Jacob Hannah is a Vermont wedding photographer that has a degree in Photojournalism and spent six years working as a newspaper photojournalist

Influenced by a background in photojournalism, I strive to not only make beautiful and creative photographs from your wedding, but photos that capture the real emotion, candid moments, and unique personality of your special day. After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2006 with a degree in Photojournalism, I spent six years as a newspaper photojournalist in New York and Nebraska, before moving back to my home state of Vermont where my wife and I have been photographing wedding since 2012. My wife, Megan, and I photograph each wedding together as a team. We take a true documentary approach to photographing your Vermont wedding, with the hope that when you see your photos you’ll not only remember how it looked, but will feel all the energy and emotion of the day through the images. Portrait of Vermont wedding photographer Sarah Priestap

I'm a second-generation wedding photographer, living out my dream of documenting community in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire and photographing unique weddings around New England. As a teenager, I spent summers assisting my parents with photographing weddings, learning just as much how to run as business as how to be at the right place at the right time to capture unique moments. While working toward my degree in Photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology, I began photographing weddings on my own, eventually bringing along my now-husband, Jeff Porter, a fellow photojournalism student who shares my love of spontaneous adventure. We now live in the mountains of Vermont, where I run the photography business and freelance for local and national publications including the New York Times, Vox, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Seven Days Vermont, and The Valley News. In addition to The Valley News, I've worked as a photographer for The Erie Times News, CITY Newspaper of Rochester, NY, and The Patriot News in Harrisburg, PA. I've received awards from the National Press Photographers Association, The New England Press Association, The Vermont Press Association, and The New Hampshire Press Association. Vermont wedding photographer Geoff Hansen calls Tunbridge home. He has been a newspaper photojournalist for decades.

With a love of documentary photography that touches everything I do, I have had the privilege of photographing hundred of weddings throughout New England since 1994. I approach my work with respect for the subject, gentle humor and letting events play out naturally in time. I began photography at 13 years old, growing up in South Dakota. After studying photojournalism at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, I have been a part of the Valley News in Lebanon, N.H., since 1989. I am now the photo editor in a newsroom full of talented and funny journalists. I have done photography for a dozen books, including The Joy of Keeping Chickens and Harvest: A Year in the Life of an Organic Farm. My photographs have also been exhibited throughout Vermont, including a one-person show at the Agency of Agriculture in Montpelier, Vermont. [Tunbridge Wedding Photographer]

New York-based elopement, engagement and wedding photographer Danielle Gardner.

After six years as a photojournalist and multimedia photographer for Sun-Times Media in Chicago and ten years as a Senior Associate for a large Chicago fine art wedding photography studio, I am pursuing my dream of opening my own wedding and portrait studio. I bring a blend of fine art and photojournalism to each wedding that I document. I passionately push the limits of my camera looking for unique ways to document the beauty and suspense that every wedding offers. Each and every wedding is an honor to document, an honor that I take very seriously. If you like authentic images informed by art please reach out and let's work together! When not photographing a wedding, engagement or portrait session, I'm in my Upstate New York home documenting the daily life of my husband, six-year-old son, and our cat Yehti and fitting in a yoga session, time in nature, or gardening whenever I can. I have a master's degree in environmental studies and my photographic work has been recognized by the National Press Photographers Association, Editor and Publisher, Women in Photojournalism, and the Illinois Press Photographers' Association, Press Association and Associated Press. Please get in touch and tell me all about you! Whether an intimate country elopement or a grand urban celebration, from start to finish, I want to hear all about it. Maine, Portland and Vermont wedding and elopement photographer Corey Butler.

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. You may even outwardly acknowledge it. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation. I only take on a couple of weddings and elopements a month. To genuinely tell such an intimate story, I aim to be more than just another vendor at your wedding; I am fortunate enough to be able to book comfortably so that I can be sure the couples I am working with are getting the attention that every couple deserves. Additionally, it allows for me to have a notably expedited turn around time, all at a price that you'll likely find a lot more agreeable than what you're anticipating for a professional photographer. I'd love to hear your story up to now and to be able to tell a paramount piece of it in the future. Let's talk, get coffee or something. [Portland-ME Wedding Photographer]

Portsmouth Wedding Photography and Elopements by Eric McCallister, of New Hampshire

I’m an NH wedding and elopement photographer with a photojournalistic approach to documenting wedding days and elopements, with a contemporary take on wedding portraiture. I began my photography career shooting rock climbers scaling cliffs throughout the U.S. By combining my passion for adventure with my love of art and design, I very quickly became obsessed with creating images that were not only “pretty” but conveyed a sense of “being there” and of the emotions felt by my subjects. Seeing and capturing fleeting moments from behind a lens proved to be a powerful addiction, which led me to wedding photography. On the wedding day, I strive to create images of a couple that show the spectrum of emotions felt on one of the most important days of their lives. I have been photographing weddings in New England since 2003. I photographed my first wedding on my own in the Fall of 2008. Ten years later, I have photographed over 350 weddings, mostly in New England, but as far away as Wyoming, New Orleans and the Cayman Islands. I currently photograph approximately 30 weddings per year, which allows me to focus on providing great service to each and every client. [Portsmouth Wedding Photographer]

NH Wedding and Elopement Photographer Cate Bligh

Cate graduated in 2006 with an Associate of Science in Professional Photography from McIntosh College. It is there where her passion for medium format photography first developed. This premium level of high-end photography is a service she still provides for all her weddings, elopements, and engagement sessions to this day. Workshops are another way Cate has expanded her photography education. Creative and intensive, week-long photography workshops have been a constant presence in Cate's educational background and are planned into the future. What makes these workshops an important piece in her photography style, is the intention of growing her craft, learning the latest techniques, and networking with photographers around the world. These workshops encompass a variety of subjects like landscape techniques, wedding-specific intensives, and commercial/stock photography. She had attended The Maine Media Workshops in Camden, Maine and several at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in places like Missoula and Kalispell, Montana and Yellowstone National Park. In 2015, Cate spent 9 weeks in Missoula, Montana at Rocky Mountain School of Photography and completed an Advanced Intensive photography program that covered all aspects of photography, from weddings to fashion to commercial and more. ___ I often describe my style as romantic storytelling. As a photographer who specializes in weddings and smaller elopement events, I try to connect with my couples in a way that helps them feel at ease in front of the camera. This allows them to relax and enjoy the day, moment by moment. From this point, I am able to capture the emotion and natural expressions as they happen. Yet, I also stress the importance of photographing a family together in a more formal way. I feel these types of images last far beyond the wedding and document who we are, and who your family is, at a specific second in time. I am passionate about New Hampshire and I really enjoy working with couples who share a love for the beauty of my home state. Many of my clients talk of their memories of visiting the mountains or lakes with their families as children and their wish to maintain this legacy into adulthood with their partner. I cannot get enough of these stories! Your connection to New Hampshire is the same I feel when I look out my window every day and is 100% the reason I choose to work and live here. I cannot wait to hear about your connection and share with you some of the most amazing locations and venues for your photos. Not sure what all the fuss is about? Reach out and I will gladly share it with you! [New Hampshire Wedding Photographer]

Boston wedding photographer, Alex Paul of Massachusetts.

Originally from Belarus – a small country between Poland and Russia – it was in 2006, and inspired by my own wedding, that I attended the Minsk School of Photography. Following two years intense study and two more years shadowing a renowned wedding photographer, I launched as a full-time professional wedding photographer in 2011. Since then I’ve notched-up extensive experience as a destination wedding photographer, shooting over 250 destination weddings in far away locations such as Italy, Switzerland, Motenegro, Thailand, Hungary, Czech Republic and Russia. We moved to the US in 2016. Located on Cape Cod, one of our favorite pastimes is exploring New England’s vivid landscape and sleepy coastal towns. As well as being ready to hop on a plane to shoot international weddings at a moment’s notice, I now cover engagements and weddings throughout Cape Cod, Boston and NYC, all New England and the surrounding area. New Hampshire wedding photographer, Sarah Martinez

Hi! I’m always ready for an adventure and I love running around in the wild with my couples, dresses that aren't always perfect, and giving couples the space to take in as many moments of their wedding as possible. My photography background takes me from starting out as a photojournalist for a newspaper in Ohio, to being the second photographer to an incredible wedding team in San Diego, all the way to starting my own photography business here in New Hampshire. I’ve driven all across the US many times, calling a bunch of those spots home and combined with my life experiences, my work is heavily influenced by the person that I’ve become out of it. In addition to the celebrations in life, it’s also the heartaches that helped me realize just how important capturing how a moment feels will impact your appreciation of the images delivered. Therefore, I work to get to know you two and use my years of experience to anticipate and embolden moments so I can capture all those genuine smiles, tears, and healthy doses of nervous anticipation. Professionally I’ve had wedding features published in print magazines like Seacoast Weddings, Southern New England Weddings – Destination Edition, and New Hampshire Bride along with a wide variety of blogs and online publications, I've been featured as the resident artist at a local art show, a finalist in a worldwide photography competition, chosen as the third-ranked photographer in my state, as well as being chosen as a top photographer in NH to watch in a nationwide report. Ben Schaefer is a Wedding Photographer in Boston, MA

I may be a little bit geeky, and my wife describes me as an "infuriatingly positive person". I am smitten with rock climbing, science fiction, surfing, travel, and being invited into the inner circle of a family on a wedding day. I am one of the only wedding photographers in the world shooting entirely on the highest end camera system and lenses in the world, the Leica. I am a hopeless romantic and thrive on the intricacies of a wedding day. My own wedding was the most overwhelming (fun!) experience of my life, and I treat every celebration with that gravity. I will tell the story of your day with sensitivity, artfulness, and attention to every detail. I work in a photojournalistic, candid and unobtrusive style throughout the day (apart of when we are making portraits or family formals). [Boston Wedding Photographer]

We all know that the economy can go through some hard times, and be somewhat reminiscent of past recessions. However, as people cut back on non-essential little luxuries here and there, one constant remains: weddings. People don’t tend to just stop getting married due to a poor economy, nor should they! So, in an industry that keeps on going through thick and thin, what are some things to expect for the future, and what is really necessary to still make that wedding day memorable and...Read more

Traditionally speaking, often times it is the couple’s families who help pay for their wedding. However, unfortunately that’s just not possible for everyone, especially these days when the cost of weddings can quickly and easily get out of control. Some couples find themselves in the position of paying for all of their own wedding expenses, which can be quite the financial burden to take on, and about 40% of Millennials end up in this boat. So, how can you stick to your allotted...Read more

While some people live for the hustle and bustle of a big wedding with extravagant décor and an impossibly long guest list, others find these kinds of weddings to be too much hoopla, preferring instead something simpler and quieter, allowing for more intimacy between them and their fiancés on this special day. So how do you infuse your wedding with all the romance but none of the fuss? ALONE AT LAST Many couples these days are opting to elope rather than planning a large wedding. For the no-...Read more

Some couples, as they begin planning for their weddings, might think that they are limited to the classic locations: churches, gardens, beaches, or even Las Vegas. But in doing so they’re missing out on a multitude of unique options that might suit their personalities much better! Why limit yourself to a quiet, quaint ceremony when your adventurous heart may be calling out for something more? An entirely different genre of wedding, so to speak, is the adventure wedding elopement. This concept...Read more

So your wedding is just around the corner and you’ve decided to elope , either because you want to do this on a budget , avoid a large wedding party, or simply to enjoy the day together with minimal distractions and as little stress as possible . They say 'all you need is love', but where exactly can you afford to trim the fat, so to speak? You want simplicity, but you also want to be properly married and, surely, to remember this occasion. While some of us were fortunate enough to be born as extroverts, not everyone feels the same way. For a good chunk of the population, any number of the typical wedding day traditions can inspire anxiety and existential dread.
