Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can couples find reviews of Northumberland wedding photographers?
A: We call them Client Letters. At the WPJA, we decided more than 20 years ago to avoid incorporating those third-person testimonials and endorsements that are found all too often in advertisements. Instead, we elevated our listings with the use of Client Letters, which represent the actual words and feelings of the clients who booked those Northumberland wedding photographers for their own wedding.
Q: How can couples find top-ranked Northumberland wedding photographers?
A: The WPJA created the original wedding photographer ranking systems. Our innovative system is based on contest winning points, meaning that the Northumberland photographers you see at the top of your search results page have recently won the most — and the most recent — contest awards. Our contests judge photographers based on their creativity, style, composure, and ability to capture the heart of any couple's story on their wedding day.
Q: Can a wedding photojournalist create artistic portraits on my Northumberland wedding day?
A: While wedding photojournalists strive to capture candid moments on the wedding day, our photographers also are skilled artists who can compose powerful portraits. If you have a specific vision of what types of images you want from your wedding day, look at the top-ranked Northumberland wedding photographers who have earned Artistic Guild awards for portrait and detail images.

Wedding Photography of a beautiful couple just married at the Laing Art Gallery

Hi Erika. Now that the dust has settled, I wanted to take the time to write to you and thank you for the enormous role you played on our wedding day. Words don’t seem to quite cover how we feel, but I will give it a go! We weren’t sure what to expect when booking a photographer- we both hated the idea of having a camera shoved in our face all day, posing and saying cheese. As you know, this is why we chose you and felt confident with your refreshing view to photography after we met for the first time. On the day, you were totally true to your word. You managed to capture it all, with great professionalism but unobtrusively. But for me personally, I want to say that I am so grateful for the support you showed me throughout. You kept me calm and helped me get the most from the day. I know, from the few images you showed us on the day, that I will (for once in my life!) like pictures of myself because you have captured our personality more than just how we look. Erika- quite honestly, you were a guest at our wedding first and photographer second. You were a fantastic asset to us and everything you did to look after us both during the day was so greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much. Our family and friends commented on you lots also and they totally echo our sentiments. So yeah....I think it’s important to say all these things to you, because yes- we have paid for a service. But what we got in return was an amazing extra wedding guest, a great friend and a fantastic support. Thank you
