Colorado Wedding and Elopement Photographer Lucy Schultz

I don't take myself too seriously - but I do LOVE my job. When I’m shooting I’m a total goof, creating a fun atmosphere where it’s easy for you to feel comfortable being YOURSELF. The word “professional” in front of “photographer” is hard for me to stomach, since I lie in the dirt A LOT and have been known to swear like a sailor. But what I lack in dignity I make up for in sound effects. I have been shooting weddings full time since 2013 though, so I guess I must accept the title. I'm your built-in hype girl. I am also an “adult.” More about me: -I met my husband when I moved to Colorado in 2015 – literally, on my first night here- and now we have two terrible/adorable cats and a forever sleepover. -My favorite food is anything wrapped in more food. Pierogies. Ravioli. Potstickers. Tacos. Samosas. Empanadas. Give it to me. -I’ve danced contra, swing, lindy, blues, and fusion, but off the dancefloor, I’m a total klutz. I once cut myself on a bagel, which is the roundest object known to all mankind. It’s bad, dudes. -Still not over how cute bunnies are. Who is, though? -I’m a Highly Sensitive Person, (HSP) and I have Misophonia (which is, unfortunately, not a soup). -I previously worked in veterinary surgery and volunteered at spay/neuter clinics and a raptor rehab center. My feral cat wrangling skills rarely come into play at weddings, but when they do.. -I’ve traveled to New Zealand, Indonesia, The Bahamas, Bermuda, Germany & Austria, where I kept cheese in my pockets to lure stray cats into my arms. It was.. occasionally successful. If you have been to New Zealand, we are already friends. [Denver Wedding Photographer]

Studio portrait of Boston small wedding and elopement photographer Nicole Chan of Massachusetts

My name is Nicole. I'm a Boston wedding photographer and I: can eat more chocolate than you can (Dark and milk. We all know that white doesn't really count), speak quickly (so keep up!) and live to travel, play board games and laugh 'till my cheeks hurt My style is a mix of creative documentary and stunning portraits. I believe that moments trump all - big moments, quiet moments, obnoxious moments and of course, little moments. I strive to create meaningful photographs. Above all, I believe that wedding photography should never be a cookie-cutter experience. [Boston Wedding Photographer]

Nantucket Wedding Photographer Katie Kaizer

Hello, I'm Katie! I was born and raised on the island of Nantucket, and for as long as I can remember I've been immersed in and inspired by the natural beauty of my home. I always had a camera in my hand when I was younger, chasing sunsets at the beach, out on my Dad's fishing boat and documenting my adventures with my friends in scrapbooks too numerous to count. I've had a passion for storytelling from an early age. A few years after college, I moved to Boston and enrolled in the New England School of Photography for their two-year professional program and studied photojournalism, wedding and portrait photography. After graduating I started my business on Nantucket. My goal and passion is to document the moments and experiences you’ll cherish forever. I am committed to capturing the human experience from the smallest elopement to the biggest wedding celebration, from everyday life to the family vacation celebrating 60 years of marriage for the grandparents. I also spend lots of time photographing stories and doing work for organizations that are near and dear to my heart; our local animal shelter and a recent project with an equine therapy center. I believe the best part of my job is that each wedding, project, portrait session or engagement is a new artistic endeavor with a story to be told. I live on Nantucket Island with my husband Evan and our rescue pup Ziggy and while I do a lot of work here, I am also happy to travel just about anywhere! I would love to hear more about your upcoming wedding, event or story that needs to be told. [Nantucket Wedding Photographer]

Chris has had a great love for art since he was a young boy. At age of 15, he earned his first second-hand camera from his father. Since then, he was always “the photographer” among his friends and family. He finally turned this passion into his profession in 2007. Wedding is one of the events Chris loves to shoot. He believes it is one of the most beautiful and joyful event in life, and he understands how every moment, from engagement to the end of the wedding day, means to the couples and their families. Through his artistic eyes and un-obstructive approach, Chris documents these precious moments into elegant, story-telling photographic images that the couples can cherish. Chris is a destination wedding photographer based in San Francisco, California. [San Francisco Wedding Photographer]

I am an East Coast transplant who loves the desert, Boston Terriers and has a serious addiction to bright colorful sneakers. I am married to a fellow photojournalist who shares my passion for photography and adventure. I think about my own wedding as I photograph weddings for other people. I know how magical that day was for my husband and me and how special it was to be surrounded by all of our friends and family. My goal is to capture that feeling for you so you can relive your wedding day years from now as well. I consider myself a storyteller who creates unique, thoughtful, artistic and candid photographs that will last a lifetime. [Phoenix Wedding Photographer]

Although born in the United States, I spent the first 7 years of my life in the Sultanate of Oman. California was “abroad” and my accent at that age was so thick that I could have passed as British. After moving to California, my older brother and I continued to spend our summers on the Arabian Peninsula. During those formative years, we sought after our own adventures. We built skateboard ramps out of plywood and 2×4’s. We raced one another to the top of sand dunes. I should also mention that we lit things on fire. We engineered and tested homemade rockets and flamethrowers on a regular basis. Beginning in 1994, I studied black and white film. In the darkroom, we developed and printed every photo by hand. At some point between photographing goats in the Himalaya and taking pictures of guanacos in Argentina, I moved from film to digital. I began photographing weddings in 2009. Weddings challenge me to creatively document an incredible range of personalities, places and emotions. No couple’s relationship is the same. No two celebrations are alike. This is surely the best job in the world. I would love to photograph the excitement, joy, and love of your wedding day! [Lake Tahoe Wedding Photographer]

Massachusetts and Boston wedding and elopement photography by Simi Rabinowitz

Knowing that a split second of time I capture with my camera can turn into an image cherished by generations. This is what excites me about being a wedding photographer and motivates me to continuously hone my skills and my vision. I love stunning natural light and pure, raw emotion. I love simple, clean compositions and bright, intense colors. I love shooting the big moments of the wedding day and the seemingly quieter ones – to me they are equally important and it is often when I look beyond the obvious that I am able to create the best pictures. I take an unobtrusive approach to my photography, allowing everything in front of my lens to happen naturally and my goal is to create images that tell the beautiful and unique story of your special event. I live in Somerville, Massachusetts with my wife and 2 children, am an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), and have had my work featured in The Knot Boston and Gala Weddings. Howdy, I'm Darren, one half of The Hendrys! I am not a typical wedding photographer, that is for certain! You could say my style is very non-traditional and pretty offbeat. My approach to shooting is simple; I’ll keep it mostly documentary (you can’t beat a good caught-off-guard expression), capture the action as it unfolds throughout the day, avoid cheesy clichés and let everyone have good old knees up without any interference from me. I’m constantly pushing myself creatively and I am incredibly passionate about telling unique stories for each couple, so I aim to go into each wedding with a clear mind and eyes wide open. If I could describe my work in four words they would be the following: Natural. Emotive. Creative. Honest. I am also a sucker for some awesome light. My journey into the world of wedding photography started back in 2011. Prior to that, I was shooting portraits, gigs and architectural stuff (I have a degree in Architecture) and was starting to get slightly bored, not to mention, my lack of creativity was failing me. I randomly put a wedding photography advert on Gumtree and secured my first booking after a few weeks! Since then I have never looked back and have been doing wedding photography full-time for almost 7 years. It sounds slightly clichéd but getting to travel the world and meet loads of new people along the way has been totally inspiring. I have also stepped out of my creative boundaries and change it up at every wedding I capture, which always helps in keeping things fresh. It’s been an awesome experience so far! Boulder wedding photography and elopements by Nina Larsen Reed of Colorado

Every Colorado elopement photographer has the same magical backdrop. But we’re all bringing our own, different magic from behind the camera. I'm Nina Larsen Reed, a born-and-raised Norwegian who moved to the mountains of Colorado in 2010 and fell in love hard. I fell in love with the boundless blue skies, the Rocky Mountain hiking trails, and with a splitboarder named Justin. And as I spent more time exploring Colorado, I realized how much I love sharing this playground I call home with couples like you. I’m not going to tell you that my photos are better than anyone else’s. What I can tell you? That I’ve photographed more than 150 couples across the Rocky Mountains. That I help my couples plan their dream elopements and weddings in a place I know and love. That these mountains still make me say “Can you believe this is real life?!” If you choose me, you’ll be so much more than a date on my calendar and I want to be so much more than a stranger with a camera. I don’t care where you’re getting married or how many people will be there. All I care about is that you’re excited about how you’re getting married and that you can trust me to show that excitement through my photos. (Oh and let’s get one thing super clear: Love is love, and I’m an LGBTQ+ friendly photographer.) [Boulder Wedding Photographer]

Jalisco wedding photographer Juan Carlos Calderon, of Puerto Vallarta

Shortly before I started my photographer's career in 2012, times were very challenging for me because I didn't have a job for 6 months straight. The only job I could find was an online coupon agency, just like Groupon, but local. It was an extremely demanding job. I was in charge of the creative department and was an editor as well for online ads of different local businesses. Many of these businesses I didn't even know but still had to make them look like they were “the bomb“. It was an 8-hour straight job in front of a computer creating the ads, answering emails, making phone calls and doing customer service and I was doing all this trying to be as charming and convincing as Steve Jobs, but I felt absolutely miserable. One day I decided to send some pictures of mine to a photo contest advertised in a local paper. So I sent some I used to take during very relaxing photo-walks around Puerto Vallarta with my wife Melissa on my days off. And guess what? I won. And the prize was a position as a 1st photographer in an exclusive resort! I felt like the luckiest man alive! But the thing is, I didn't know ANYTHING technical about photography, I didn't know about composition, ISO, shutter speed or apertures. I was a layman really. But my boss didn't care about those technicalities and he told me very seriously on my first assignment: “Here's your camera, you have your first wedding at 6:00 pm“. And I was like: “ Okay, I better make this work...“ LOL. Fortunately for me (and most importantly, for the bride), the pictures didn't suck. But obviously, they were far from great and I didn't want to cheat myself or anybody else again, so after that experience, I committed myself to become the best photographer I could be. I've been studying, training, learning and practicing since then and I've never stopped. Now, I am so grateful because I do what I love the most, with the person I love the most. Meg Brock is a wedding photojournalist based in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Baltimore wedding and elopement photography by Kathleen Ricker, of Maryland

Hello! I’m Kathy and I am a Photographer & Adventurer. Walt Disney said... 'If you can dream it... you can do it...' I try to live by this mantra everyday of my life. As a photographer my career is based upon dreaming and creating. My goal is to create images that can tell a story and give emotion. I want people to view my photography and be able to both see and feel what is going on in that photograph. I'm not afraid to step out of the box or go down a road less travelled for an amazing photo. I'm always trying to outdo myself. Although I photograph a little bit of everything my main focus is weddings & wildlife. Over the past 4 years I have used the money I have made shooting weddings to travel the world and photograph wildlife in it's natural habitat. The purpose of these adventures are to educate people on how they can help save our planet. Two years ago on one of my adventures to Africa I was introduce to David Sheldrick's Wildlife Trust. This organization is helping to rehabilitate baby elephants who were orphaned in the wild because of poaching. I quickly fell in love with their mission and organization and knew I wanted to give back. For all my couples that book a wedding package I adopt a baby elephant in their name. I lost my mom to cancer in 2012. I have always had a bucket list of sorts but her passing inspired me to actually start crossing items off my list. Since that point I've travelled to all 7 continents (twice), 48 countries, and 42 states. I've snorkeled with Orca Whales under the Northern Lights in Norway, I walked amongst thousands of Penguins in Antarctica, I've been face to face with Lions & Elephants, I celebrated Carnivale in Brazil and Holi in India, I've hiked in Patagonia, up volcanoes in Congo, and on the Inca Trail. I've trekked with Gorillas and Tigers. I've won my first award for my wildlife photography and will officially publish my first article this fall. I love the Outdoors- Hiking, Camping, and just breathing the fresh air. I love all things Disney (even after working there for 10 years). I've only read the Harry Potter books once but I think JK Rowling is a genius. I appreciate Star Wars, but will admit that I really just love Ewoks! I love love love animals. I have 2 dogs and 2 fish... and I'm working on chickens. When I grow up... other then a photographer I hope to work in Wildlife Conservation. [Baltimore Wedding Photographer]

Julie's fascination with photography started early. Hanging in her family home were two side-by-side portraits: one of her sister, perfectly coiffed and surrounded by carefully arranged stuffed animals; and one of Julie, tangled hair, one sock falling down and struggling to put on a pair of shoes. Julie passed those photos every day until the idea that people and character should be in photographs was as second nature as bee-bopping to ’80s music. Fast-forward fifteen years and you will meet a self-made, successful, award-winning artists who, despite her interest in all visual mediums, has devoted herself exclusively to candid moment driven photojournalistic photography in Key West. Below the bubbly surface that will charm both bride and groom is a serious professional and incredible artists. [Key West Wedding Photographer]

I’ve worked as a professional photographer for more than a decade. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in photojournalism and started out in the newspaper industry. During that time, I shot everything from criminal court trials to Detroit Pistons games (I’m originally from Michigan); structure fires to beauty pageants; congressional debates to high school football games on Friday nights. Every day was a new challenge; every assignment a new learning opportunity. My time as a photojournalist taught me to be resourceful and to think on my feet, which has proven invaluable for wedding photography. In the summer of 2008, I started shooting weddings on the side and absolutely loved it. I was able to visit new places, meet new people, and was granted a very important and personal role in what was arguably the most joyful day of their lives. Plus, I started getting a ton of compliments on my work and how it was different from typical wedding photography. People would tell me that they could spot one of my photos from a mile away without having to be told who the photographer was – that I was beginning to cultivate a very specific style. So when my wife, Moira, and I moved to Colorado that fall, I decided to make wedding photography my full-time career; we started J. La Plante Photo and never looked back. When I’m not behind the lens, you can probably find me on the slopes. Skiing is one of the main reasons I moved west. I’m also obsessed with the music scene out here. Red Rocks is by far the coolest venue I’ve ever been to. I’m a craft beer nerd, a movie buff, an amateur screenwriter and an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction alike. And I love to travel. I’ve been to 18 foreign countries and all 50 United States. I drove all over the American West before deciding to settle in Colorado, where I immediately fell in love with the state’s blend of urban and outdoor lifestyles. The proximity of Denver to the mountains felt too good to be true and now, eight years later, it still feels that way. I can’t imagine a more perfect setting for a wedding photographer. My name is Lori-Anne and I photograph all matters of the heart. I discovered my love of photography in college where I learned the fundamentals of film using an old 35mm Canon T50 and then practiced my new-found knowledge on the streets of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where I grew up. Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. You may even outwardly acknowledge it. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation. I only take on a couple of weddings and elopements a month. To genuinely tell such an intimate story, I aim to be more than just another vendor at your wedding; I am fortunate enough to be able to book comfortably so that I can be sure the couples I am working with are getting the attention that every couple deserves. Additionally, it allows for me to have a notably expedited turn around time, all at a price that you'll likely find a lot more agreeable than what you're anticipating for a professional photographer. I'd love to hear your story up to now and to be able to tell a paramount piece of it in the future. Let's talk, get coffee or something. [Portland-ME Wedding Photographer]

I take a classic approach to photographing your wedding. Above all else, I'm a storyteller: documenting moments, capturing the emotions of one of the most important days in your lifetime. I emphasize the authentic. Timeless, classic, true; I aim far more towards showing your connection and love than any current trend in wedding photography. In 30 years, I want you to look at your photographs and feel the same way you did at the wedding. I think you deserve photos of your love story that are as timeless as your love. I want to connect with you beyond "style"….photography or otherwise. I want to meet you. I want to know you! I want to know what your lives look like outside of the wedding planning process. And, really, I need that to get the kinds of images I want to give you. The best photographs come when you're willing to let me into your story. I won't pose you to get the perfect photo…the perfect photo is going to come from your connection with each other. Letting me in on that connection is what creates a meaningful, timeless image. Knoxville wedding elopement photography by Bryan Aleman of Tennessee

I have loved photography since I was young. I have always loved the thought of any emotion being captured naturally, in it's purest form of expression. My passion is born from being a romantic at heart and shooting a wedding like I was shooting my own, without missing a moment. I lived half of my life in Honduras and the most recent half in the USA which is where I have mostly grown as a photographer for weddings, engagements, and elopements. Miami wedding and elopement photography by Brenda Bravo - Florida WPJA

I was born in Los Angeles, California (to Peruvian parents) and have lived throughout Northern and Southern Cali most of my life until about March 2011 when I decided to up & move to Lima, Peru to pursue my dream of being a full-time photographer and documenting social work in the slums of Lima. After graduating from California State University at Fullerton in 2010 with a bachelor's in Visual Communication & minor in Sociology, I attended several photojournalism workshops around the world for years including Look3 Festival of the Photograph workshops (Charlottesville, VA) and Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Mexico City, BodaF in Querétaro, Mexico and Beyond [Wedding Photography] Workshop in Lima, Peru 2016 & 2017. Each of these experiences brought out a different world within me and taught me the value of photography as a tool to help us see, not only things or other people but ourselves. I’ve been photographing couples and families for over 10 years now, but falling in love and having experienced what it’s like to be the bride first-hand has changed the way that I see through my viewfinder at weddings. I am an utterly hopeless romantic and I can see and feel the love around me much more now than ever before. I get it. I offer real, emotive, and breathtaking images that capture who you truly are and all the joy you are feeling on your day. I also love to capture the behind the scenes bits, which I feel are the most interesting and telling; the pre-ceremony jitters, the anxiety in the dressing room, the sheer madness and beauty of it all. I live for these raw moments and am always ready to capture them when you least expect or even notice. Let me share my passion and years of photography experience with you. Maybe we can get a coffee together and you can tell me all about how your story began and how you want to remember it. [Miami Wedding Photographer]

I am a freelance wedding photographer from Toronto. Besides the wedding and elopements, I also cover photoshoots for newborns, family and candid couple portraits. My father being a passionate photographer introduced me to a camera in my early childhood. I was so surprised and amazed at how a tiny device can capture moments and lock them away forever. Even having a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy - just didn't felt enough to be satisfied and so I decided to follow the passion & started AS Photography in 2012. [Brampton Wedding Photographer]

Boston wedding and elopement photography by Kevin Wright of the Massachusetts WPJA

As long as I can remember, I've been using cameras creatively. When I was in elementary school, my brother and I used the home video camera to make sketch videos, and as I grew older, the improvements in the video recording and playback world fascinated me. When I was 14 I took my first photography class. I went to an NHL game with 2 rolls of black and white film, and a Minolta my mom bought in 1976 and developing that film I fell in love with capturing a moment, a real moment. I transitioned into the video program and later enrolled in a trade school for video production and broadcast television. I went to film school at the University of Colorado, and after realizing I no longer dreamed of working on a major motion picture, I moved to Boston with a friend and moved on creatively. Years later, my wife encouraged me to pursue my passion one more time. Together, we built a company on family and event photography before jumping into weddings. We booked 25 weddings in our first year, and have fallen in love with engagement and wedding photography. I shoot as though I'm filming a scene. My "poses" are cinematic, shot in motion, candid, and as though the couple is walking through a scene. When I shoot a wedding, I prefer to blend into the sea of guests and take moody, candid photos when people have forgotten I am there. I developed most of my habits through cinematography, but I have been inspired and found new motivations in the entire wedding process, from Engagement shoot through the delivery of a final wedding gallery. We shoot anywhere from 25-35 weddings per year and enjoy doing engagement shoots for our wedding clients as well as clients not ready to book yet, but with a need for beautiful couples photos. Los Angeles wedding and elopement photographer Annie Bang of CA

I’m a moment junkie. I studied Journalism in college and I once was a journalist based in Seoul, including for The Associated Press. I strongly believe that the absolute best way to re-live the most special day is by looking at your photos of real moments and emotions. Both my academic and professional backgrounds have influenced my documentary and photojournalistic wedding and elopement photos. And these timeless and priceless photos define who we are and nothing makes me more thrilled than documenting our lives as they are. Life is a series of moments, and those moments are fleeing away from us instantly; that is why photography is incredibly powerful and important to our lives, and I feel extremely honored to be part of every moment. I do what I do, coming from my heart, passion, and love. I love listening to all kinds of music nonstop. I love eating/cooking food - especially noodle soups. I lived in Panama for about 6 years when I was a kid. But my Spanish is really embarrassing. I visited the most secluded country North Korea twice when I was a reporter. I love wandering around and reading books about why we are the way we are. [Los Angeles Wedding Photographer]

Hi! I'm a wedding photographer living in Southern New Jersey and covering the greater Philadelphia area as well as all of New Jersey. I've been photographing weddings professionally since 2012. While photography has always been a passion of mine, I didn't start photographing weddings until I realized just how posey and fake most weddings were when it came to photography! I decided then that I would start photographing weddings as a storyteller and photojournalist. Capturing real moments and the true essence of the day for my couples. Things took off from there and now here I am! I am also an avid wildlife photographer. I think that wildlife and weddings are very similar to me in that you get an addictive rush when you are able to capture the perfect moment. A moment where a single photograph can tell an entire story. There is nothing else like that and I will never tire of waiting endlessly to capture those moments! [New Jersey Wedding Photographer]

Detroit wedding photography and elopements by Ray Iavasile of Michigan

Ray Anthony Iavasile is the owner of Ray Anthony Photography in Birmingham, Michigan. He began photographing weddings in Los Angeles, California in 1992, but his love and passion for his documentary style of photographing weddings began clicking for him in the early 2000s when he traded in his Bronica medium format cameras for faster Canon 35mm SLR's. The change opened the door to shoot a lot more candid-style photos than ever before. This ignited a passion in him to redirect his focus entirely to photographing weddings from beginning to end as a documentary style wedding photographer, or as a wedding photojournalist. By 2004, with the acquisition of his first professional digital camera, there was no turning back. He began developing an authentic style of capturing the "decisive moment" and has since become an expert at documenting the unfolding story of the couple's wedding day. For the last four years running with WPJA, Ray has ranked as one of the Top 150 wedding photojournalists in the world, once in the Top 100 and twice ranking in the Top 50. In 2019, Ray's success has seen him climb to the #7 wedding photojournalist in North America, and #28 in the world. When Ray is commissioned to photograph a wedding, he truly believes it’s his job to photograph the “complete story” of that day! He is so sincere with this idea, that he even provides "unlimited coverage" on the wedding day, photographing from the early morning until the end of the night! Ray doesn’t want to miss a single moment! Ray Anthony Iavasile earned his BA Degree at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. The Ray Anthony Photography showroom has been located in Birmingham, Michigan since 2005 and Ray has become the premier wedding photojournalist in all of Michigan. Though most of his weddings are photographed in the Metro Detroit area, he has photographed weddings extensively in California as well as Florida, Boston, New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Ray is always willing to travel to destinations around the world. He is also an underwater photographer and would love to photograph a wedding under the sea! [Detroit Wedding Photographer]

Fascinated by human expression and interaction, I began photographing weddings and elopements and haven't looked back since. My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere for my clients so that they can feel comfortable, be in the moment and enjoy themselves on their wedding day. Elopements by Top Denver Wedding Photographer Justin Edmonds

Working as a photojournalist for the past 11 years for clients like Getty Images, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Major League Baseball, NASCAR and The Denver Post, to name a few, I've had the opportunity to document stories, events and people all over the country. I bring that level of experience, problem-solving and hard work to each and every wedding that I photograph. I've shot more than 130 weddings and elopements in my career which is something I can admit that I didn't see coming as a business student at the University of Denver, CO. I definitely thought I would end up in the advertising industry but I picked up a camera while studying abroad in Rome, Italy and haven't put it down since. I love spending time with my fianceé, Amy, and our families. When I have some free time I can usually be found on the golf course, riding one of my three bikes or snowboarding. I am passionate about cooking and craft beer, having tried more than 2,000 unique beers to date. [Denver Wedding Photographer]

We are Matt and Tara Theilen–just two people in love with life and passionate about what we do. We met in 1998 when Matt was living in his VW van, spending winters rock climbing in Joshua Tree while Tara was finishing up graduate school in Tucson. Over the next 9 years we were friends living our lives in different places. We would see each other and hang out from time to time, mostly high up on a rock face or on some long, mosquito-ridden approach in the Sierras. We were both rock climbers and sought out the solitude and adventure of the mountains. We soon fell in love with each other and naturally, we united forces photographing weddings and building this amazing business together. [Lake Tahoe Wedding Photographer]

An overeducated wedding photojournalist and Atlanta native, Cindy is a recovering chocoholic, adventurous traveler and all around nerd. She loves to hike with her wife and photo partner, Sharon and their beagle/cattle dog Roux, the valedictorian of his puppy school class. After graduating with honors from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Cindy took a job at a small newspaper in South Georgia, where she photographed hospital teas, horse trainers, pecan farmers, basketball coaches and beauty queens. She interned with the Associated Press while finishing her bachelor’s, then worked as a staff photographer for two daily newspapers in Florida. An unexpected life turn took her to Vermont for one incredibly cold winter and on to Indiana, where she worked as a picture editor for a large daily, and completed a master’s and PhD. After teaching photojournalism at colleges and universities in Florida, Indiana and Mississippi, she returned to Atlanta to earn … you guessed it … yet another degree. Her passion for storytelling with her camera, along with her interest in religious and cultural diversity led her into the field of wedding photojournalism. She has documented weddings large and small, Unitarian and Pagan, indoors and out, Christian and Muslim, in backyards and in churches. The most exotic wedding she has photographed took place in Tulum, Mexico and was officiated by a Mayan shaman. She cries during the father-daughter dance, laughs during the toasts and sneaks a piece of wedding cake when no one is looking. On occasion, she has been known to dance while photographing the reception. When she’s not photographing weddings, portraits or corporate events, she works on personal photo projects, visits her Mom in a memory-care unit, and volunteers at a recovery center. Born in Russia, Emin moved to New York City in 2001. Currently, he lives in The Bronx, NY. A self-taught photographer, Emin credits WPJA and the WPJA photographers for inspiring him to become a wedding photographer. He says, “WPJA helped me to create a vision and grow as a photographer. When I photograph a wedding, I am motivated to do it better, to be more creative.” Emin, the only person to ever simultaneously win Photographer of the Year for both WPJA and AG|WPJA, is clearly a competitive force. However, he says he doesn’t try to win in any competition. “I started my own competition in my head,” he says. As such, he claims he is never nervous about results and credits the organization as a mentor through the many inspirational images he finds there. Emin’s foundational philosophy about his work is that a photographer’s images are directly tied to their own personal experience. He attributes successful images as “luck, multiplied by your experience,” and, of course, your camera skills. “It the camera should be just an extension of your hand or eye.” He believes that pressing a shutter button will not create an exact replication of a moment. Rather, the ability to capture moments is shaped by one’s own individuality, and thus the creative process renders an image as a vicarious expression of self and subject. As he explains, “Merely holding a camera does not mean the gods will give you the shot. You must have something inside you. If so, it will be immediately visible within the photo.” 2008 - Photographer of the year in the AGWPJA. 2009 - Top 5 WPJA Photographer for 2009 2011 - Photographer of the Year in the WPJA. 2012 - WPJA POY First Runner Up 2014 - Photographer of the Year in the WPJA. 2014 - Photographer of the Year in the AGWPJA. Oaxaca, Mexico wedding and elopement photography by Douglas Favero

I am a Oaxaca destination wedding photographer. My first Oaxaca destination wedding came in 2008, when a Brooklyn bride, with her fiancé, from the Isthmus, came across my photographs of Spain, Morocco, California, and Oaxaca, at an art sale on Alcalá in Oaxaca. She said she loved my style and wanted me to shoot her wedding. Since I had never shot a wedding before, her coordinator, Marcela González, with whom I have collaborated on so many of the most beautiful weddings in Oaxaca since 2008, recommended I be the second shooter to the photographer they had already booked. It was a part-Jewish, part-Istmeña wedding at Casa de Los Pintores and the day was full of so much life and fun and amazing moments that I was hooked. I began investing in my education as a photographer, and in my professional equipment. Soon enough I started giving workshops in English and Spanish and served as a liaison and interpreter for iconic film photographer Mary Ellen Mark's Oaxaca photography workshops. I have exhibited in places like Casa de la Ciudad, with financial support from the Alfredo Harp Helú Foundation, and published in magazines and newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and El País, among many others. I have met the needs of discerning clientele like Casa Oaxaca, Oaxaca Film Fest, and brides from around Mexico and the US looking for something different for their destination wedding photography. So many years later, each new wedding still gives me the same thrill as the first. This is because I push myself to meet the artistic and storytelling challenges each new wedding puts before me. It would be an honor to be your photographer, and tell the story of your day in a way you will love to revisit the rest of your lives. [Oaxaca Wedding Photographer]

La Spezia artistic wedding and elopement photgraphy by Matteo Originale, of Liguria, Italy

Born in a small village near Cinque Terre, Italy in 1977, I was interested in photography since my youth. I spent a lot of hours in the darkroom viewing my father's pictures. With the passage of time photography became more than a passion, it became my whole life. I work throughout Italy (Siena, Florence, Rome, Venice, Como Lake, Portovenere, Orvieto, Amalfi, Sorrento) and in foreign locations. I continue to develop my skills by attending different workshops and seminars. started taking pictures when I was a child, trying to imitate my father. I liked his old cameras and I was fascinated by the alchemy of the darkroom. With the passage of time, this particular way of interacting with reality has become the passion that today is my job. I like to think that with me there's always that little boy, with his curiosity, his desire to experiment, his wanting to put himself to the test continuously. I began photographing natural landscapes and architecture. Now I love being a wedding photographer. Why? Because marriage is a moment full of emotion and passion. I’d like to reproduce those feelings in my shots: a face, a smile, a tear, a look . I do it in the first place trying to help the couple to face in the best way a moment that, in some ways, can be very difficult. One of the best things about my job is that … today many of these spouses are my friends. 2009 2011 European qualification QEP 2012-2014 recognition of association AGWPJA; 2014 7th ranking wedding photographers association AGWPJA. 2015 2nd ranking wedding photographers association AGWPJA. 2016 1st ranking wedding photographers association AGWPJA 2017 2nd ranking wedding photographers association AGWPJA 2018 1st ranking wedding photographers association AGWPJA [La Spezia Wedding Photographer]

As a teenager I enjoyed creating memories in a different, natural and original way. My dream and my hope was to become one of the best wedding photographers in the world. I still did not know how to get it, but I was very clear that I did not want to be a photographer of the bunch. I enjoy photographing people, telling their stories and getting the best out of them. This is where I can further promote the documentary side of this profession. I'm based in Spain and shoot weddings around the whole world. [Madrid Wedding Photographer]

Jonathan Sylvoz, wedding photographer for Savoie, France

Wedding documentary photographer, Storyteller. I have always lived in the heart of Savoie, in the Alps between lake and mountain. I love living here, but the trip is for me an artistic outlet, as soon as I can, alone or with my family, I wander in various adventures around the planet nearby or very far from home. I already had several lives of a photographer: in the specialized press, companies, events, dynamic local advertising. All these experiences gained and success allows me today to be responsive and creative with a global vision of the scenes taking shape in front of me. Photography allows me to have this freedom, to work where I ask, without constraint. 33 years old, a small family that was built around me in my photographic adventures started in 2003 while the film was still a standard and the digital a novelty. Passionate about photography since I was young, the first camera I held was my father's. Being a photographer is, for me, obvious every day, for more than 10 years as a professional. Hi I’m Ash Davenport from Miki Photography, an international award winning Wedding Photographer in London but covering the whole of the UK. I specialise in a blend of relaxed and creative portraits and a documentary approach to capturing weddings. So if I were to try and describe my style in three words it would be, LOVE, FUN & STYLE. LOVE – For me that’s what a wedding is primarily about, and what I'm trying to capture the essence of: two people who love each other enough to say that they want to spend the rest of the lives together, surrounded by all the people most important to them. FUN – Whether it be joy, happiness, or laughter I want your images to resonate with real emotions. So relax be yourselves, and just enjoy it – and then allow the pictures to reflect that. Don’t worry I be mostly blending into the day capturing it all as it all unfolds. No fake smiles, no saying cheese and no looking at the camera. Just awesome imagery of people being themselves with real relaxed expressions. STYLE – I always strive to make you both 'look good’ especially in the parts of the day where I get to spend a few moments with you and hopefully produce some pictures you’ll be proud of and happy to show your friends and make them go 'WOW’. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d love to hear from you. [London Wedding Photographer]

I believe that, your wedding photographs should show more than how beautiful you look at your wedding. They should remind you what you live and feel on that day. My mission on each wedding is; - to produce meaningful, evocative photographs that focus on the precious moments - to help your future self remember the true story of your wedding, and possibly tell it to your generations - to make you feel, when you look at the photographs, like you are there and then again With that mission in mind, I have been photographing weddings since 2006. I am usually the closest person to the couple through their wedding day, yet I manage to stay unobtrusive, leading them only when they require me to. Most of my couples seem to forget about my presence as the day unfolds, which yields to those unexpected, relaxed, "in-the-moment" images. Currently I live in Istanbul with my wife, and my son who, after all these years, helped me realize why I love photographing weddings; it is because I am creating images for my couples that they and their grandkids will not just love to look at, but will also find touching and meaningful, even after many years. Lifestyle portrait of Paolo Blocar Italian Wedding and Elopement Photographer

I was born in Trieste, where I have always lived apart from some time in various Italian cities, but worshiping the sea and the climate of our city, my heart has always brought me back here. And that's where I met Lisa, many years ago. Then one day I asked for her hand ... and since then we share everything, even cameras. I followed Lisa in this project of hers and I believed in her from the beginning, also because I was lucky to have a photographer dad who taught me to love photography in all its forms and made me realize how important it is. Precisely for this reason, I wanted to put body and soul, together with Lisa, in this work; for me it is great to meet new people, living with them the emotions during the wedding day and tell the story through the images. I am a great lover of technology, cinema, film, and TV series: I would spend whole days looking at them without interruption and I always find inspiration for work. In my free time, I love being in the company of our family, chatting with friends even late and spending nice evenings with them filling our bellies with good food, at home or in some restaurant. I love traveling, visiting new places, experimenting with new things and tasting typical foods of the place: work permitting I would be perpetually traveling; from America to Oceania, from South Africa to Iceland, my dream is to be able to visit at least a small piece of every continent. WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN TO ELOPE? If you look up the definition of “elope” in the Merriam-Webster dictionary , you’ll find a plethora of meanings making it quite clear how polarizing the word has become, and how it has transformed and evolved with the passage of time and even personal preference.Read more
While some of us were fortunate enough to be born as extroverts, not everyone feels the same way. For a good chunk of the population, any number of the typical wedding day traditions can inspire anxiety and existential dread. This day is all about you, yes, but does that mean all the attention has to be on you as well? FROM VOWS TO CHITCHAT, WHICH REMAINS SACRED? Traditional weddings often require some degree of performance on the part of the couple, whether that is in the form of reciting...Read more
So your wedding is just around the corner and you’ve decided to elope , either because you want to do this on a budget , avoid a large wedding party, or simply to enjoy the day together with minimal distractions and as little stress as possible . They say 'all you need is love', but where exactly can you afford to trim the fat, so to speak? You want simplicity, but you also want to be properly married and, surely, to remember this occasion. Who, then, could be more important than...Read more
While some people live for the hustle and bustle of a big wedding with extravagant décor and an impossibly long guest list, others find these kinds of weddings to be too much hoopla, preferring instead something simpler and quieter, allowing for more intimacy between them and their fiancés on this special day. So how do you infuse your wedding with all the romance but none of the fuss? ALONE AT LAST Many couples these days are opting to elope rather than planning a large wedding. For the no-...Read more
Traditionally speaking, often times it is the couple’s families who help pay for their wedding. However, unfortunately that’s just not possible for everyone, especially these days when the cost of weddings can quickly and easily get out of control. Some couples find themselves in the position of paying for all of their own wedding expenses, which can be quite the financial burden to take on, and about 40% of Millennials end up in this boat. So, how can you stick to your allotted...Read more

Some couples, as they begin planning for their weddings, might think that they are limited to the classic locations: churches, gardens, beaches, or even Las Vegas. But in doing so they’re missing out on a multitude of unique options that might suit their personalities much better! Why limit yourself to a quiet, quaint ceremony when your adventurous heart may be calling out for something more? An entirely different genre of wedding, so to speak, is the adventure wedding elopement. This concept...Read more

Hello John, Thank you for capturing our special moment in both our banquet in Penang and Hong Kong. You managed to snap all our precious moments and your photos truly touched our hearts. You managed to capture all details and looking at our photos truly brings us back to our wonderful wedding again. Your light heartedness made the wedding fun and enjoyable yet all shots taken were professional and artistic. Even showing our photos to those that did not attend our wedding, they could clearly see the romance, joy and fun. A lot of people in Penang have asked for your contact details But unfortunately you are in Hong Kong! You managed very well as a single photographer in our Penang wedding, not easy for a big banquet.

Hi Dylan - We've spent every spare minute looking at our prints. The way you've captured the light, colour, movement and emotion in each of the pictures is just incredible. It's hard to explain but it's like each picture comes to life when you look at it. We're noticing things that we didn't see online and we are having so much fun reliving our day! Thanks again

Thank you so much for all of your hard work on our beautiful wedding photos. There are no words to express our gratitude for capturing some of the most important moments of our lives. Our wedding & engagement photos are an absolute treasure that we will savor and cherish forever. When we share our album with friends, they rave about how unique it is and that they’ve never seen anything like it. I have to agree it is amazing and a delight to flip through - it just seems to bring us right back to June 7, 2008 - a day that we hold very close to our hearts.

Corley & Don

Hi Neil and Lisa, Don and I are beyond thrilled with our pictures! The quality, detail, and beauty of the pictures is just so obvious. Aside from all those things, we love that you captured the sequence of events in a photojournalistic fashion. I've gotten comments from many of my friends/family that these are the best pictures they have ever seen, and of course we are just so proud that they are our pictures. I also have to chuckle a little because you guys were such an organized but chill vendor and as a project manager myself, I know how much preparation you both did behind the scenes to make that work. We couldn't be any happier and if you ever need a reference - email, phone, whatever - please do not hesitate to call.

We would whole-heartedly recommend you, and wish you all the best.

The photos we received were absolutely gorgeous. My wife and I could not have been happier with them, which is saying something because she hates all photos of herself. Also, we had some unexpected snow and freezing weather, but you made sure to make the outdoor shots as painless as possible. The snow ended up looking stunning in the photos too, so that was a silver lining. You're definitely a great photographer with a more artistic touch to your photos as well.
