Passion for People: A Journey from Art to Photography
My photographic journey started a year before I was offered a place at University. I knew I wanted to be an artist but what that meant I wasn't really sure until I discovered that I could immerse myself in creating imagery with a camera. To hold a camera and capture an image was easy but to create an image which had impact or created a reaction as does Art was something that interested me. I had never really looked at photography in this way and this was where my journey began. The concept excited me and secured my place to university at Blackpool and The Fylde College to study a BA hons in Photography. Photographing people seemed to be my passion and it wasn't till years later when I was in Spain that I fell into wedding photography and my style of photojournalism soon shone through. I would describe my images as storytelling, classic, artistic, quirky and fun. I love to showcase all of the emotions of the day which is certainly not cheesy happy smiles all day. I love all the emotions a wedding day can bring and capturing those private moments are a privilege. I have photographed weddings at top venues including The Marbella Club, Finca Cortestein and Finca La Conception in Marbella, Spain and The Dorchester, The Londoner and The Grove in London, England. I will travel anywhere for a wedding and have been lucky to be invited to document weddings in Tenerife, Ireland and Barcelona.
