Nikhol Esteras is a weddings photographer with her husband in Mexico and the San Francisco, Bay Area.

I am a documentary wedding photographer, based out of Oaxaca (Winter) and the Bay Area in California (Summer), and I also offer my services in international destination wedding photography. My approach focuses on making unique and real images that capture the meaningful moments, raw emotion and pure joy that make up the incredible experience of a wedding, and that also beautifully tell the story of that day. When you look through your images, they will take you right back to the excitement, love and happiness experienced during your celebration. I am madly in-love with documenting love. Wedding photojournalist Cindy Brown is from Atlanta, Georgia

An overeducated wedding photojournalist and Atlanta native, Cindy is a recovering chocoholic, adventurous traveler and all around nerd. She loves to hike with her wife and photo partner, Sharon and their beagle/cattle dog Roux, the valedictorian of his puppy school class. After graduating with honors from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Cindy took a job at a small newspaper in South Georgia, where she photographed hospital teas, horse trainers, pecan farmers, basketball coaches and beauty queens. She interned with the Associated Press while finishing her bachelor’s, then worked as a staff photographer for two daily newspapers in Florida. An unexpected life turn took her to Vermont for one incredibly cold winter and on to Indiana, where she worked as a picture editor for a large daily, and completed a master’s and PhD. After teaching photojournalism at colleges and universities in Florida, Indiana and Mississippi, she returned to Atlanta to earn … you guessed it … yet another degree. Her passion for storytelling with her camera, along with her interest in religious and cultural diversity led her into the field of wedding photojournalism. She has documented weddings large and small, Unitarian and Pagan, indoors and out, Christian and Muslim, in backyards and in churches. The most exotic wedding she has photographed took place in Tulum, Mexico and was officiated by a Mayan shaman. She cries during the father-daughter dance, laughs during the toasts and sneaks a piece of wedding cake when no one is looking. On occasion, she has been known to dance while photographing the reception. When she’s not photographing weddings, portraits or corporate events, she works on personal photo projects, visits her Mom in a memory-care unit, and volunteers at a recovery center. Mississippi Wedding Photographer Danny Klimetz

I love photographing people's stories! We are all so special and unique, with so much to offer the world in our own little ways. The camera is this magical tool that allows me access into these intimate moments in people's lives. So that's what I like to focus on most...the moments. They can be quite moments, when someone grabs your hand in comfort...or they can be louder when a Dad loses it seeing his daughter in her wedding gown. It's amazing. I've largely had a camera my entire life. It started with an old Nikon film camera my Dad had. Then in college I had the most amazing job, documenting our University's outdoor program. Photographing our trips where we went hiking, climbing, rafting, etc. It truly was a blessing. After college, I started photographing friends' weddings, not thinking much about wedding photography as a career...but as time went on, I realized I really did love the chaos of a wedding day, that one day when all these people of different stages in one's life come together to celebrate love. So I left my career as an Environmental Engineer and haven't looked back. [Mississippi Wedding Photographer]

Katherine Birkbeck of TN, loves wedding photography and was a newspaper photographer.

"Everybody, everybody wants to love. Everybody, everybody wants to be loved. Everybody knows the love, everybody holds the love, everybody folds for love. Everybody feels the love, everybody steals the love, everybody heals with love." - Ingrid Michaelson To say that I love the words to this song up above is kind of an understatement. Somehow, I have made a career out of chasing love around and trying to capture it. It's really just that simple! I am moved by the beauty of love - and what better place to find love then at a wedding or in the face of a child? I've got a lot of love in my life and it reminds me daily how important my job is. My husband and I have been married for 13 years - it still seems like yesterday though! We have twins that were born in October of 2012 and the world's sweetest dog. They truly are the joys of my life - all 4 of them. But let's be honest, sometimes I need a happy photograph to remind me of that amid all the chaos. I first learned to love photography in college as a newspaper photographer and a lab assistant in the dark room (yup, it was all film back then). I've now been in the business of shooting weddings for 11 years and it's still a job that I would never give up. Learning more and more every year is a job perk that keeps me going! I'm definitely a photojournalist down to my core. Nothing motivates me more then true emotion. People often ask me what my favorite part of a wedding is. While there are so many things to love about a wedding I have to say I think it is the moment right after the ceremony when the bride and groom get to hug and celebrate with their family and bridal party...when the bride watches her mom hug her new husband, when the girls all giggly over the groom's face, when everyone screams with excitement, or when the groom and his dad laugh because the pastor called him the wrong name. I've always loved that the very best photographs are the ones that we could never have planned for. And this got me to thinking - what is it about weddings that cause so much emotion? And in the end I have decided that it is simply because family is important. Relationships are important. Love is important. Memories - life changing, crazy fun, heartfelt memories - they are important! I hope you'll trust me to capture these important memories! [Knoxville Wedding Photographer]

Andrea Mabry is a wedding photographer from Birmingham, Alabama

As a wedding photojournalist, I create vibrant, playful, engaging imagery that evokes the emotion of your wedding day. Based in Birmingham, AL with a second home base in New Orleans, I especially love photographing weddings that have a little flair, be that in the form of a backyard reception, a second line or a crazy dance party. No matter how you choose to celebrate, the truth is I will probably cry at your wedding. My art form is capturing people’s emotions. When photographing you, I try to feel what you are feeling and translate that into moving imagery. The magic of weddings moves me. As a photographer, I am interested in creating beautiful images, particularly images involving people. I consider myself a highly empathetic person, so while beautiful pictures are part of the deal, I am most interested in learning about you through your emotions, actions, and reactions, capturing those real moments that happen during and in between the planned portions of the day. Californian Gingi Freeman photographs weddings all over the state, including San Francisco.

My name is Gingi Freeman. I am a photographer, artist, storyteller and mother of two adorable toddlers in Visalia, California. I often shoot alongside my husband Jonathan, where we love to capture real moments and raw emotions. My non-intrusive approach to weddings allows couples to relax and be present in their moments of happiness rather than focusing on posing. That’s what I want to deliver with each assignment, a meaningful and beautiful storyboard. I am a crazy cat person, adventure seeker, Christ follower and overall geek! Some of my hobbies include traveling, gardening, dropping random Mel Brooks movie quotes, going to comic book conventions and making frequent trips to Disneyland. I are located in Visalia, California but travel to many cities and states for wedding photography, my primary passion! [Visalia Wedding Photographer]

I am a Chicago-based photographer living in the Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago with my husband, and closest friend, Shawn.  When I was thirteen I picked up my mother's camera and started documenting our lives. The one hour photo lab down the street turned into hours and hours in the b&w darkroom in undergrad, then the color darkroom, then a Masters in photography. Today I still find myself in the darkroom every day with my students at New Trier High School. Photography is more than what I do, it is who I am. I teach so that I may pass that passion onto future generations. I am at home and at ease when I am working with and photographing people; it has always made complete sense to me. I take pride in making my clients feel comfortable during our shoots, even the most camera shy. I have an admiration for beauty, peculiarity, and the everyday stuff of life. I let my intuition lead me and I do not force situations to occur. I allow moments to unfold and adjust myself to the situation.    I am humbled and honored to photograph the memories and milestones in people's lives. I know that I will always do my best to document people as they are, so they will look back on the moments and still feel all the love and warmth that went into creating those memories.   , [Chicago Wedding Photographer]

Jonathan Moore is an award winning documentary wedding photojournalist from Southern California

My work as a photographer began back in 2008 as a sports photography intern at Getty Images. As a freelancer, I covered baseball, football, basketball, rowing, tennis, and motorsport. My experience at Getty sharpened my eye for composition, light, and timing. The technical challenges were amazing, but as time passed, the nature of the work became impersonal and systematic. Another touchdown, another home run, another victory lane… I was just one of a gang of photographers trying to capture the same moment. I felt like my life’s work was becoming a commodity. I growingly became frustrated and disillusioned with my professional journey. Something had to change. Then it hit me. How can I be truly passionate about my work when I don’t have any personal connection whatsoever with the people that I'm covering? As a sports photographer, I was always at arm's length from my subjects – leaving me without the ability to truly relate to what they were feeling. At that moment I knew I wanted to work one-on-one with my subjects. There is something so gratifying about capturing two people madly in love, handing them the images and then hearing how their experience brought them even closer in their relationship. This is the joy that wedding photography brings me and it is why I have chosen to dedicate my life to this work. It would be an honor to hear from you! [Los Angeles Wedding Photographer]

Picture this: It's mid-summer, with temps in the low-80s, a cloudless sky, and oh-so-light gusts keeping everyone just cool enough. Maybe you're out on a bluff, overlooking the ocean, or in a fragrant, blooming garden. A scene is set for the ideal summer wedding. But—back in reality here—there's no way that six to eight months or more down the road any couple can forecast such pristine conditions for their wedding day. Despite their idealized image, summer weddings can...Read more
Cake cutting photograph with the bride and groom deciding if they should smash or not smash the cake.
No other tradition during the wedding day should rely as heavily on improvisation as the cake cutting. Those entrenched in the traditional camp may want to offer guidelines on where to stand, how to cut the cake and when to smile for the camera, but their promptings need not be followed for a thoroughly memorable experience. In fact, not following the “rules” is frequently what makes the cake cutting unforgettable. This time-honored ritual can turn into an entertaining affair with...Read more
Wedding Photographer captures quite moment as the bridesmaid looks timidly out before entering the scene
Weddings can be chaotic, noisy affairs where emotions are displayed publicly, so one of your biggest challenges that day can be capturing that quiet, intimate side. Trust, anticipation, skilled observation, savvy lens selection and a host of other judgments make it possible to bag those poignant moments in images that recall the day for those in attendance, and reveal a story for those who were not. It is all part of the unique value proposition that our members bring to wedding photojournalism.Read more
Wedding Photograph taken as bridesmaids see bride in her dress for the first time and showing their reactions
To document the best moments of a wedding day, a photographer shouldn’t only focus on the bride and groom , or even on the main event. "Reaction shots," which record the reactions of guests observing the wedding’s activities as they occur, add an invaluable dimension to the visual record of the festivities. “I was constantly given a gentle reminder to look beyond the obvious action while covering sports assignments while on staff at The Hartford Courant newspaper,...Read more
