Hello! I’m Kayla, owner of Kayla Rice Photography. I live in West Roxbury, MA with my husband, Rob. I grew up in Southern Vermont and began my venture into the world of professional photography at Syracuse University where I earned my B.S. in Photojournalism. From there, I had careers in newspaper photography and major league baseball before landing where I am today. Wedding & family lifestyle photojournalism is a dream job for me. It allows me to flex my strength in narrative, journalistic photography by telling the story of your wedding day or your family’s love as a journalist would, from the margins, without becoming a character in that story. I started my business with the goal of documenting love in all its forms and creating an experience for those who might be looking for something more authentic and unposed. I make it a priority to get to know you and your loved ones beforehand so that on the big day I can step aside, listen, & observe from the sidelines to capture the most intimate and beautiful moments throughout your day, without being the center of attention. I value creating honest, candid images that reflect the truth, emotion, & importance of your relationships and love. I believe it’s an honor to capture these intimate moments and truly appreciate the trust and openness given to me to allow me to do what I do.
