37 Documentary Wedding Photographers...
Hey there, I'm Yves. A wedding photographer from Belgium that has been shooting weddings since 2014 after leaving the corporate engineering world behind him. This wedding photographer life has been a rollercoaster which led me to meeting a warm wedding photography community of friends, seeing all parts of the world and enjoying this creative outlet. I love both creative portraits as well as a more documentary approach to wedding photography and everything in between, which makes me feel a kind of hybrid. As long as my images evoke emotions, I'm a happy camper. [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
Fille graduated as a pharmacist in 2010 but soon felt this profession was not his true calling. During his studies, he got fascinated by photography. Two years after his graduation he started taking his hobby to a new level by photographing parties and events he would normally attend as a guest. Especially attracted by beautiful light and human emotions he started photographing big festivals and parties around the globe. After 3 years of combining these 2 jobs, he gradually got drawn into weddings and kept evolving ever since. Today he has shot about 140 weddings in about 7 years time. And he usually shoots about 23 weddings per year nowadays. He has always been inspired by numerous different photographers, which influences his work in a very diverse way. Alex Webb has inspired him to explore the world of layering. Fille's own background as a festival photographer has brought him a very dynamic style of shooting, focussed on human emotion, light, and colors. Fille is also a keen travel photographer and loves to combine this with his job as a wedding photographer. [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
At the last moment just a child from the 80s. I live in Wijnegem, but my heart is in Antwerp. I studied graphic design there and now I share a coworking space, so I spend a lot of my time there. I love my one-eyed cat Gusar (he is otherwise perfectly fine), but other animals can also appeal to me. For example, I am the godparent of an orphan elephant somewhere in Thailand. One day I will travel there to visit her. Immediately a good reason to explore an extra piece of the world. [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
Photography and people are Joshua’s two greatest passions. Utterly curious – a nice legacy she got from her grandmother – she loves to meet new people, observe them and capture what they are all about. She is both outgoing and calm so to make everyone feel at ease. Very patient, she has a special radar for shenanigans. Her goal is to document small but great moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, to capture the moment just as it felt that day. She is a visual storyteller. Mostly self-taught, she has been a professional photographer for the last 7 years, full time since 2013. She is based in Antwerp, Belgium, and travels in (and sometimes out) Europe for Day in the Life sessions and Weddings. She is at her best when shooting true, unstaged and profound moments and events – in a relaxed atmosphere. [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
In my work as a photographer I picture the spontaneous, funny and loving moments. I live to catch that one laughter, tear or amazed glance that says it all. Relive the joyful story of your wedding day with photographs that are as dazzling as they are real. I capture what I see, what I like ... Life. Love. [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
I am a proud mother of two fantastic girls and a loving wife who has a huge passion for love and photography! I started to photograph as a child, but this was just for fun. When I became 23 years, I started to ask myself what I really would like to do for living for the rest of my life. I didn't have to think a lot, because I wanted to become a photographer. In the beginning, I didn't know what kind of photographer I wanted to be. But when I had to take pictures in the studio, I didn't feel free. It was not my cup of tea. I wanted to tell stories about people and animals, stories about life and love. So wedding photography became my number one of photography and I really love it! It's amazing to be part of it and to be that one person that is honoured to capture this once in a lifetime. As a wedding photographer, I realize my own piece of poetry with my camera. Wedding photography is something that always fascinates and motivates me, one of the reasons that this kind of photography makes me feel completely home. I am energetic, playful, I love your romance very much and I portray your beautiful wedding day in a very surprising and unique way. With an eye for all details and the most exceptional lighting conditions, I realize your wonderful story. My wedding photography consists of real stories in which the moments prevail because that's what it's all about, THE MOMENT YOU CAPTURE... [West Flanders Wedding Photographer]
I am Jonas, 39, born in Ghent and living in Aalst. Married to Heike and father of Mon (6) and Miene (4). Together my everything. In addition, I am fond of the sea, music, sour candies and photography, of course. To me, photography is a hobby that got out of hand. After enthusiastic reactions to my travel photos, friends asked me to photograph their children or even their wedding. And with success, because many tens of thousands of photos later I could make my profession out of photography. My style? Spontaneous, romantic, no-nonsense photography. But especially: non-everyday. [East Flanders Wedding Photographer]
Coming from a creative family I started drawing at a very early age. Now I freeze unique moments with my camera instead of a pencil. What I love most as a wedding photographer, is to be able to capture all these emotions and moments during a wedding day. A smile, a kiss, a tear...all these little things makes me feel very privileged to be there and create all these images that will last forever. I love meeting all these new couples, there families and friends and the interactions between them. No wedding day is the same! [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
When people come in and ask me for pretty pictures, presented in a classical way, I tell them to look for another photographer. Because with me you'll receive something different. We don't want pictures that show you, your family and friends posing with a big smile on their faces. We want the pictures to have a true emotional value. We want to capture the true emotions of your wedding day. We try to intervene as little as possible, but catch the moments that really matter. During the wedding shoot the couple will receive my guidance and advice to make the shoot into a really fun experience. The emotional and artistic photos will remind the couple of their perfect day. As a fulltime wedding photographer I obtained the necessary knowledge and technical skills to work the camera and to afterwards put the best contrast, colour, and details into the pictures. Pictures can be delivered in different presentation: albums, animated slideshows, collage, cards or big size printings on different materials. I am also co-founder of VZW Studio, the association for professional photographers. It is important to me to defend the interests of the professional photographer end it gives me the chance to constantly improve my skills, through their workshops and courses. [East Flanders Wedding Photographer]
I am a wedding/family photographer that photographs honestly, without bulky lighting systems or assistants. As a wedding reportage photographer, I observe and capture the genuine moments, real emotions and reactions. I'm taking pictures for over 15 years now but I've been shooting weddings for 7 years. [Limburg Wedding Photographer]
I believe in love and I am in love with photography :) I like to think that my images are simple, honest and modern. I consider myself a wedding photojournalist looking for the real moments: emotion, joy, tears and happiness. I care about making great images, and I smile a lot :) When I need a break, I enjoy trail running and yoga. I am not good at describing myself, so I will just mention a few things that I like: traveling and exploring, climbing mountains and skiing down them, taking long walks alone, morning runs in the forest, watching movies late at night, the smell of fresh bread, Indian food, making playlists and reading books. I know how important memories are and I know how to best capture them, true to life, for you. I am available for booking anywhere in Europe and internationally to capture your special moments. I documented my first wedding 8 years ago. Since then I have been traveling and photographing weddings worldwide, with clients from different parts of the world: France, Belgium, Italy, UAE, India, Brazil, USA, UK, Canada, Luxembourg, Ireland, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Romania, Lithuania, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, New Zealand and more. I am so lucky to have the greatest job in the world :) [Brussels Wedding Photographer]
Photographer from Ghent, mother of two, book lover and (slightly) chocolate addict. And I especially like to capture your story on a photo. I am a self-taught photographer. I bought my first camera with my very first pay at the age of 23. Finally! I learned the basics at evening school and then I developed further on my own. Long live the internet - a source of endless inspiration and tips. A few years later I started as a photographer in secondary occupation. And when I was 32, I decided to go for it. Now or never. Fully freelance photographer. And wow, how blissful. I work harder than ever before but most of the time it doesn't even feel like working. [Ghent Wedding Photographer]
Perfect is boring. I'll just deal with the real. Real is better. That's what I'm photographing for. No uncomfortable staging, just be you and I'll do the rest: Translating real-life stories into unforgettable images for you, your family and your friends. Formed as an architect my passion for photography guided me to the visual storyteller I am today. I catch unstaged moments in attracting compositions. Every moment counts so for every wedding again I'll work hard from the early mornings until your epic dance moves. [Antwerpen Wedding Photographer]
My photography must exceed your expectations. I laid the foundations at the Fotovakschool, I followed courses, but the most important thing: I followed my heart. I have found the perfect balance between ambition, challenge and love in my constant search for the perfect picture. My portfolio is proof of that. I want to create something. Something deep personal. I want to make the real connection with people. Being present in the unconditional love that two people feel for each other. Capturing it, it is a homage that gives me unbridled energy. ['s-Hertogenbosch Wedding Photographer]
Ten years in computer science and one burn-out later...I decided to travel for one year around the world. We are in 2012 and I buy my first camera. Ma passion for photography is born. In 2014, the best friend of my father invited me and my camera to his wedding. A BIG revelation to me, observation, instinct, moment, story... I love stories, I love moments, I love people, I love travel. I'm French, working in Nancy, and worldwide. I'm 35 with 2 wonderful little boys :) [Vosges Wedding Photographer]
I was born in Colombia, and at the age of 20 I came to live to study cinematography in Septima Ars, and then Professional photography and master in digital Photography in Efti. I have been a freelance photographer for 15 years, created my own company Veroa, and now I identify as Momenticos by Rocio Vega. My personal evolution is very tied to my professional evolution, always learning and evolving, always thirsty of life and knowledge. The emotions create our memories. The things we´ve been through, all that we have lived intensely remains guarded in our heart. But our memory is fragile and photography makes those blurry recollections recover brightness, gives us the possibility of remembering forever these instants that make our life unique. My passion is to capture the best way those momenticos, this small instants in which the soul undresses and teaches its essence. I live through every wedding as a great celebration being conscious that probably this one will be the only time that all of them are in the same place simultaneously, looking for the connections, the bounds that join them, that one that thrills them and makes them cry of happiness. [Leon Wedding Photographer]
Well hello to you. My name is Linda a professional wedding photographer living in the Netherlands together with her husband, two kids and a cat called Kiwi. Photography has always been a big part of my life, but for a long time not in a professional way. When looking back I always look at the world around me in compositions, and as a kid, I always brought a small camera with me when I was away. Photography as a career has never crossed my mind when choosing an education. I studied communications. Looking back a study that is all about people. After working in various large corporations the urge for something new was getting bigger and bigger. As a result, I started to work for a small online radio station as their social media manager, next to my day-to-day job. A way to meet new people, change perspective and be more creative. So creative I got. In order to get interesting content for our channels, I picked up my camera. For a few summers, I was travelling across the Netherlands with a team to capture music festivals. Focusing on young talented artists. My photography got picked up and I received my first small assignments. At the end of 2014, I decided that it was all or nothing. The day job didn't inspire me anymore and I decided to fully focus on photography. Without any assignments I stepped into 2015 and slowly work was there. I accepted every photography job out there. From photographing newborn babies to corporate seminars. I also had a few weddings and fell in love instantly. It reminded me somehow about music photography. I always loved just photographing the crowd, the feeling of a day in the sun enjoying music. I never cared that much for the artists and being in a pit with 15 other photographers elbowing your way for an image. In 2016 I decided to say now to all other assignments and fully focus on weddings only. As today I only shoot weddings and it's a fulltime job for me. During winter I focus on some personal/ documentary projects and someday in the life sessions for families. My approach to wedding photography is as unposed as possible. I love to look for the true identity of a couple and translate that into my images. [Utrecht Wedding Photographer]
I'm French wedding photographer. I do it since 2012. I'm married and I have one daughter, they are the inspiration in my life and they push my limits to be a better person and a better photographer. If I do this job, it's to feel happiness and love...I love that. there's no best job than to be a wedding photographer [Lot-et-Garonne Wedding Photographer]
Andreas Pollok is an international award winning weddding photographer from Germany. He is based near Heidelberg and Frankfurt. He is documenting wedding all over Germany and Europe. He photographs the wedding day in a creative documentary style with dramatic and romantic portraits. [Baden-Wurttemberg Wedding Photographer]
The more life experience I get, the more I realise the importance of being in the moment. Playing with my children rather than observing them over my laptop; Watching a movie with my wife and just enjoying her company, the easy silence, the film and forgetting the stream of social media updates; Taking the dog out for a walk and just enjoying the walk. As they say, "waking up to smell the roses". My approach to photography is a reflection of who I am: in the moment, spontaneous, observant. I look for shards of interest in the ordinary - maybe a touch of humour, a fleck of irony, a cool reflection. I do that because I'm mindful that I'm here right now and there's always something going on - right now! My other half and I have three children and a dog. I've shot weddings all over the British Isles and USA. I'd love to hear from couples who share my passion for photographic storytelling, who use Pinterest for ideas, not rules; and who place importance in images that reflect who they really are, not what trends tell them to be. [London Wedding Photographer]
Hello, it's me, Lucille! I am 32 but feel like I was 10 yesterday! I grew up in the Paris area, travelled abroad for studies and work before settling in the eastern part of France near Luxembourg. I love my little city of Metz where I can do everything on foot, enjoy a drink at a terrace with friends, exhibitions, and concerts. I started photography during family gatherings and fell in love with documentary photography. A never dreamed of a fairy tale wedding for myself, so I never thought of a career as a wedding photographer! But one day I photographed a friends' wedding and discovered it was such a rich playground for a photographer. There are so many moments and emotions concentrated in one day. I love sharing this special day with you, capturing all these little moments and offer you timeless memories. [Metz Wedding Photographer]
I've started as a professional wedding photographer in 2017, yes that's not a long time ago. But I already have shot around 50 weddings so far. Why? Because I love it! I've bought my first professional camera in 2014, in the beginning photography was purely a hobby. I loved being creative with the support of models, makeup artists, and stylists. We were always looking for extreme concepts in hair and makeup. But even then I tried to capture some real emotion in my portraits, I didn't like it when it was too posed or it didn't grab your attention. Before I bought that camera, I used to run around with my baby girl early in the mornings to capture sunrises and sunsets or other beautiful landscapes with my iPhone. That was so much fun! All this helps me see a wedding through different eyes. I'm looking at the environment, at the light, but most of all, I'm looking for absolute real feelings and moments. These can be funny, emotional or just a beautiful composition. And of course, I'm always paying extra attention to capture the beauty of the bride. By being a mum of two, I can't help to shoot kids at weddings... I sometimes need to be careful not to make a family shoot out of it! Kids just grab my attention because they are so real (as do the elderly because of their character). Finally, somebody I really respect and now have mentoring from (Rocio Vega) told me: You see little details, things other people don't see. I believe this comes through my own personal life experience. Being raised under difficult circumstances makes you extra aware of the energy around you, peoples moods and body language and having a character that doesn't want to stand out in a crowd makes me able to come close without being noticed. Combine that with the fact that I am sensitive, I love humor and I love keeping it real, and you will see all that back in my photos: Family, Fun, and Feelings. [Noord Brabant Wedding Photographer]
A few years back, I was already an established landscape photographer when my cousin asked me to photograph her wedding. When I do things, I'm 100% committed. My first move was to read tons of articles about wedding photography and to go through hundreds of images to get a grasp of what to do and what not to do. I was highly influenced by the great Tyler Wirken and his journalistic approach. On top of learning a few tricks from his blog, I also bought the right gear, a 35mm prime lense. The smile on my cousin's face when she saw her photos was so rewarding that I decided to shoot more weddings and soon after it became a full-time job. Over the years, I have developed my ability to be at the right place at the right time, by anticipating every moment of a wedding. This helps me to capture all the emotions going on on the big day. Shooting weddings has had a great influence on my approach to photography and my personal life. I now apply the same principles when I take pictures of my own baby-girls: my wife is so grateful to have souvenirs of these candid family moments. This is why I take so much pride in documenting weddings, because I know how important these moments are for the bride and groom. [Luxembourg Wedding Photographer]
I take pictures as long as I can remember. I was obsessed by the light of Rembrandt and the colors of Vincent Van Gogh. The old Dutch Painters were by far my favorites. Since I was not gifted with the talent of the fine brush, I decided to be a photographer. As a little girl weddings always attracted me. The magic of love, emotions and people just the way they are. Those are, for me, the most important ingredients for a wedding. No matter what dress, ring, cake of venue. I shoot weddings in the Netherlands, but if clients want me in other countries, I will do so without hesitation. I adore my husband (and second shooter) and daughter. My 'idol' of wedding photographers is Gerhard Nel. [Zuid Holland Wedding Photographer]
Hi there! My name is Arjan Barendregt. When this is written, I am 38 years old, married and father of 1 little boy. I think that my story could be a copy of most of the other wedding photographers: started as a hobby and now a professional photographer. It all started when I was about 12-15 years old. My father forced me to search for a hobby: 'stop wasting your time behind the television!' So that's when I bought my first analog camera: an old Praktica. I high school I followed my first course. This was an extra lesson we could follow besides the normal subjects. I bought books in secondhand markets and the only thing I did was practice, practice, and practice... Taking a lot of photos meant that I also had to develop a lot of pictures. Most of my money was in letting all the photos develop. That's why I started to shoot only slides. I became a member of our local photo club. All of the members were older men, I was the only teenager. So this wasn't a good match. But I learned a lot. Years went by, the new cameras were bought, and I bought my first digital camera. No DSRL, but a Sony which saved the pictures on real floppy disks. Can you imagine?! I bought my first DSRL about 8 years ago and this helped me to develop my own style. The only pictures I made were those of our holidays. I proudly showed them to all our friends and relatives. It didn't take long or my best friend asked me to shoot their wedding. And that's how it all started. I am now a professional wedding photographer, shooting 40-45 weddings a year at home and abroad. The most important thing for me at weddings is trying to become 1 of the guests and not being Mr the Photographer. This is how I want to capture everybody just the way they are and not how the act before my camera. "Photography is about capturing souls, not smiles." [Zuid Holland Wedding Photographer]
I'm a so-called "What you see is what you get" kinda guy. Always enthusiastic and eager to find and experience the most beautiful things in life. Ever since I can remember I was drawing on everything I could find. Also making music and dancing was a huge part of my childhood. And even now I tend to spend my days mostly creating something. After having spent more than 10 years traveling the world as an electronic music artist, visiting the furthest corners of the world, it was a logical step that I became a photographer. Translating all these years of collected inspiration into imagery. By now I have been photographing for over another 10 years! The first period of my photographic journey I spent shooting Fashion. It now really helps me to find beauty in everything. Together with my true passion; cinema, I now have a unique style that is a combination of journalistic with the flair of fashion. My work is candid, but I always seem to find a way to make it look like it could land in a fashion magazine. My dream is to make my own feature film someday, but I doubt I will ever want to stop shooting weddings. It's the one time, the one place on earth where literally everybody is beautiful, full of emotion and there is always something happening every second. It's heaven for a photographer like me. [Amsterdam Wedding Photographer]
We live in a small farmhouse near Maastricht Netherlands. I love wandering through the fields and the woods with our dogs, especially on rainy days. I’ve been into photography for as long as I can remember and I've attended many, many workshops by international wedding and documentary photographers all over the world. If you like you can check my personal website with my other photography work on shabbywalls.com. It's about portraits, street photography, and reportage. [Limburg-NL Wedding Photographer]
Hello, my name is Anouk Raaphorst and I am a professional wedding photographer from Westland. In 2010, after my education at the Photo Academy in Rotterdam, I quit my job in the brokerage and I started I Shoot Love Wedding Photography. My photography stands for spontaneous fresh wedding photos in a journalistic way, not staged. Fotos that really tell your story to live again and again. Creativity & unique moments are central to your day, full of love and emotion. All this, just like my photography, with an eye for detail. You get married at a location that unleashes something. All the preparations that you now enjoy fall into place during the day. One thing is certain, a day to remember. [Zuid Holland Wedding Photographer]
As a full-time passionate wedding photographer, I love to capture weddings with a photojournalistic approach. Thanks to my personal interests like history, castles, Dutch painters and animals my photos will always have a touch of history and if possible add some fun animals. Since I've started as a professional wedding photographer in 2006 I've been around more than 300 Weddings. In the last 7 years, I've been perfecting my craft to the current level with several wedding photography workshops. My photos are influenced by Dutch painters like Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Van Gogh. In combination with the old wedding venues in Europe, I can make new masterpieces as an heirloom for the next generation. [Gelderland Wedding Photographer]
I am Marjolijn Maljaars, married to Eelco and mother of 5 beautiful children. We live in Sommelsdijk on Goeree-Overflakkee. Our house also has some fluffy animals, a golden retriever, three cats, and three rabbits. I love my children, my husband, tea and sleeping late (although that rarely happens). In my free time, I enjoy walking the dog and I like to go out with my children and husband. I prefer to shop from behind my computer. I spend a lot of hours on contacts with colleagues, post-processing of photos, following workshops and I am always busy learning more. I photograph in a journalistic way, photograph the moments as they are and pass by without stylized and posed positions. Capturing your sweet, funny, beautiful, honest and wonderful moments with my camera makes me most happy. [Zuid Holland Wedding Photographer]
Hello, I am Marli Eggelaar from WeGraphy Wedding photography! I was raised in Nuenen, a village near Eindhoven. A real Brabander who loves to work hard and play hard! Since I remember I was interested in photography and catching the moment. In 2006 I made a trip to Australia together with my now husband. Just before we left I bought my very first SLR camera. My father helped me because photography runs in the family :) My husband got crazy during the Aussie trip since I was constantly dreaming away behind the camera. Playing with the shutter speed and aperture and see what would happen. The feeling I got when I made that once in a lifetime shot made me very happy. I really enjoyed being creative. Doing something different than the status quo in photography. Although I was not a pro yet I mainly focused on finding the right light and the most beautiful colors. In 2013 I decided to my first photography study. At that point, I came to the conclusion that to me wedding photography is the one thing in life that makes me utterly happy. People, emotions, stories, and especially love, beautiful! And to be able to record that and be meaningful for others in that way. This suits me. In early 2017 I started to pursue my dreams, quit my day job and fully focus on full-time on wedding photography. Now, some years later I can say wedding photography is my dayjob. Every year I participate in courses, training, and seminars to constanly develop my style and signature even further. Friends describe me as caring, creative, perfectionist, and a persevering attitude. I prefer to register rather than direct. You will not see me. I remain low profile so the couple can relax and enjoy the day. I will never intervene in the real moments of your day. I record the events when they occur. I try to have as limited as possible posed photos. Those real pure love moments are so beautiful! In addition, I am extremely patient and wait 20 minutes in one spot to make the best photo. [Noord Brabant Wedding Photographer]
I am a wedding photographer and filmmaker based out of the Netherlands. Here in The Netherlands there are not many professionals that can do both at the same time. With yearly 30 up to 40 weddings per year I am experienced in the most versatile conditions. With my brand Lovin' You I am traveling across the world capturing weddings, but still mainly active in The Netherlands. I am very relaxing and calm, which make it very pleasing for the wedding couple and guests as they can be themselves even with a camera in front of their face. [Hoofddorp Wedding Photographer]

The photos have arrived! And of course, we absolutely love them!!! You've really captured the spirit of the day and all the moments that made it special. We can't stop looking at them - there's just so much to see in every photo, and the longer we look at them, the more there is to see! The composition of some of them is just genius.
