Dorota Karpowicz is a wedding photographer from Alberta, Canada

Our photography began in nature where we captured award winning photos of the natural environment but we were drawn to people and capturing the richness of their emotions in photos that will last forever. We use different lenses and angles to create unique compositions. We have worked with many couples throughout Edmonton and the Rocky Mountains and continue to love every minute of what we do. Alberta and Edmonton wedding photography by Lauren Hannah Garcia of Canada

My passion for photography began at an early age and grew in the darkroom of my high school. I began shooting weddings as an assistant/ second photographer and took the leap into my own business more than a decade ago. My enthusiasm for wedding photography stems from an interest in connections, whether between the couple, family or friends (the family we choose), and a desire to work with people. I enjoy the excitement, mirth, and frenzy of the wedding day itself and love the chance to create joyful, creative, emotive or unexpected images for my couples. My other passions include hiking with my dog, running and enjoying the outdoors. Or on lazy days a good book with a cup of tea. [Edmonton Wedding Photographer]

Wedding photography by Bobbi Barbarich, of Canada - WPJA in British Columbia

I am an award-winning professional photographer living in Nelson BC, but I’m happy to go pretty much anywhere an adventure will take me... so thank you for considering my perspective for your wedding photography. I focus on the genuine, emotional interactions and reactions between you, your family and your friends. My approach is candid and unconventional, so I can document for you the natural moments that will become your memories. While I'm adept at posing, my work celebrates the realness of you. Thus, I spend the day illustrating how others feel about you, how you feel about them, all through candid documentation of every element of your day. I've been documenting weddings and relationships for ten years, covering over 200 ceremonies, and I can honestly say each one makes me ever more curious about humans and how we love each other. Thus, when I photograph your wedding, I'm drawn to illustrate your relationships. My goal is to leave each wedding having understood why each of your guests is there, and to have captured what makes your relationship yours. [British Columbia Wedding Photographer]

Emma Rose began photographing weddings in 1999 in Vancouver, Canada

Emma Rose has had a life-long desire to capture the beauty in people, their surroundings and their emotions. What started as an exploration of all different types of artistic medium, including watercolour, acrylics, charcoal and pastel, turned to a more immediate capturing of people on photographic film in about 1997. Emma started photographing weddings in 1999 in Vancouver, and was immediately drawn to them as a venue for capturing people at their best and at a turning point in their lives. When she moved back to Halifax in 2002 she started what may have been the first photojournalistic wedding photography business in the city and quickly carved a niche amongst more traditional portrait photographers. When clients cried while looking at their wedding photographs, Emma knew there was something special in the way she captured weddings, and that continues to give her the energy to push the limits of creativity at each wedding. With just one photography and darkroom course under her belt and a handful of art classes, Emma is primarily self-taught in composition, technical elements and lighting with years of studying and appreciating all types of art. Canadian wedding photographer Jessica Schlamp - for British Columbia and Kelowna couples.

Hi! I am a wedding photographer based in Kelowna, in the gorgeous Okanagan Valley of Canada. I've been photographing weddings professionally since 2010. I love learning about people - their personalities, relationships, values, dreams and unique journey - then capturing this in my photography, creating dynamic story telling imagery. I'm always thinking of where that photo will be in 50 years, who it might impact and how the viewer will connect emotionally with my work. I now photograph between 25-30 weddings a year with my husband Andy. Together we are able to accomplish some pretty incredible things, and have poured our hearts into constant growth and the mastery of light. I constantly strive to take my work to the next level, using the highest quality cameras, lenses and strobe lighting to compose beautiful works of art that captivate people's imaginations and senses. As long as I can remember I've been creating, working hard, and dreaming big. I love to construct, creating extraordinary out of the everyday. Most of all I love to connect with individuals, encouraging or inspiring them in some way with every encounter. I bring all these skills to our photography business. They have laid a firm foundation for all that I do as a professional photographer. My photographs have been featured in numerous print and online magazines and blogs. As Jessica and Andy Studios grows I hope to positively impact my community and the lives of my family and others, as a direct byproduct of our work. It is an incredible honor to document each wedding and to produce images that will become my client's most precious heirlooms. As a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful kids, I know how priceless great photos are. They are a valuable investment worth far more than gold. I would love to be your photographer! Cake cutting photograph with the bride and groom deciding if they should smash or not smash the cake.
No other tradition during the wedding day should rely as heavily on improvisation as the cake cutting. Those entrenched in the traditional camp may want to offer guidelines on where to stand, how to cut the cake and when to smile for the camera, but their promptings need not be followed for a thoroughly memorable experience. In fact, not following the “rules” is frequently what makes the cake cutting unforgettable. This time-honored ritual can turn into an entertaining affair with...Read more
A woman holds a little girl's hand while the bride kneels down and smiles at her before the ceremony in this wedding photo | Children photography at weddings.
The start of the great divide between the sexes can be witnessed a lot earlier in life than most believe. Girls and boys participating in weddings around the world demonstrate this time and time again. Frequently, little girls will relish the opportunity to dress up in their finest, while the boys do so begrudgingly, kicking and screaming all the way to the altar, so to speak. However, it doesn’t take long before that divide is bridged, and children are children again, with neither girls nor...Read more

Sybil Rondeau, of , is a wedding photographer for Domaine des Forges
While you may have picked out a beautiful, rustic church, a serene outdoor setting, and a posh reception hall as ideal backdrops to your wedding photographs, the shots don't stop there. Remember: The wedding photojournalist's mission is to document the entire day. And one of the often overlooked, and maybe under-appreciated settings for photos during your wedding day occurs while the bride, groom and other members of the wedding party are in a car, limo, party bus or other forms of...Read more
Sideline story photography at the wedding reception showing ladies drinking gin from tea cups
Some wedding photographers may feel the need to include the bride or groom in every picture, but those photos convey only part of the day's record. Most WPJA members will probably tell you that you're not fully documenting the event unless you get out there on the periphery and record the subplots of the wedding day—the unique and intersecting stories of the guests as they enjoy the festivities. We call these types of pictures “sideline shots,” and they are distinct from the standard reaction...Read more
