Nooshin, a PhD student, and Shervin, a software engineer, had a small wedding ceremony with their closest friends in attendance on a bridge in the city park near their apartment, followed by a party in the evening with more friends. Both Nooshin and Shervin's families were not permitted to be present for their ceremony, and the couple could not travel home to marry, because of the current travel bans in place for people from Iran.
The day was hot with bright sun and summer was in full swing. Nooshin wore a stunning blue dress and Shervin looked dashing in a black suit. Everyone was jovial as the pair had a short but very heartfelt ceremony officiated by one of their best friends. After the ceremony, a traditional ceremony with sugar, rice, and singing was held on a park bench accompanied by smiles and tears. After a bit of visiting and group portraits, the party moved to a nearby restaurant for dinner and dancing. The perfect ending to the perfect day. Congratulations Nooshin and Shervin!
