The backdrop for this historic home is San Miguel de Allende, the birthplace of the heroes of the independence movement. Located a few hours north of Mexico City in the Sierra Madres, it was founded in 1542 by Fray Juan de San Miguel, a Franciscan monk. San Miguel de Allende retains a rich colonial charm with its cobblestone streets and beautiful Spanish colonial mansions."
