TLC follows in a long tradition of WPJA wedding “emotion” contest categories dating back nearly two decades, so we put a premium on the emotional content of this work. These award-winning images from real wedding events illustrate true love and emotion that were shot from the heart. Below are examples of the outpouring of love that was captured between two people or even among a group of family and friends expressing their mutual affection, admiration, and devotion.
WPJA contest judges have been recognized by their industry peers, winning top awards as staff picture editors, staff photojournalists, and newsroom mentors while working for these and other leading publications and journalism organizations.
