Photographer's Comment

When a boat is on waters as choppy as the east river, it's pretty difficult to take a steady shot let alone perform a ceremony. This wedding was so unique and so intimate and even though the boat was so unsteady, I was able to frame the couple, their grandfather the officiant, and the freedom towers.

    • The photographer was given a great gift here- the father of the bride! He was a great character and the photographer did a nice job of capturing his personality. Love the moment! The composition is nice because all three subjects are in the photo, but the center of attention is the father. Well done.

      • This is the image of fantasy. It is at the apex of all things idyllic. It is about as pristine as any setting a photographer could hope for. And yet, I can imagine all of the ways an opportunity like this could become a failure. The wrong lens, poor use of light, bad composition, or just the downright wrong choice of angle could easily spell doom instead of BOOM! Fortunately, the photographer made none of those fateful errors and thus presents us with an image fit for other, more pleasant imaginings - the kind that begin with the descriptive phrase, “life-long.”
