  • I love the tenderness of touch by the women surrounding this bride to wipe away her tears and hold her hand. The light is perfect, as the bride is illuminated above the other women. Composed so the bride stands out, but enough of the other women is included in the situation.
  • A very classic pre-wedding photo, but great emotion. The hands coming to the bride’s face really made this photo a complete story.
  • All eyes are on the bride. This image is about her tears. All compositional elements lead to her face. Even the grasped hands at the bottom direct your eye back upwards.

  • A successful detail shot can tell a story and in this case that's exactly what it did. The dress is so grand that the bride has to be on her toes, on top of the stool, to even reach it. All this caught in a detail of her limbs, but made you pay attention to the story.
  • Nice little lyrical detail. Her being on her toes brings a lovely energy to this photo.

  • This enjoyable image finds the wedding couple showered with champagne as the droplets of bubbly create a flowing arc to both frame the moment and serve as a leading line into the image. I particularly liked the composition here. It would have been an easy image to miss if photographed with a longer lens or cropping out the space above them in the viewfinder.
  • A beautifully captured scene. Great composition and use of flare adds interest.

  • The highlights of flair provide additional flair to an image that was already built on a foundation of flair. But, the photographer has properly composed the image so the burst of light during a toast serves to highlight and accentuate an already lovely moment.

    • This bride is obviously in that “zany wedding reception sort of way.” It’s the usual kind where smiles, giggles and laughter are moments that wiggle and jiggle from floor to rafters. And why not? It’s her day to lean back, lick the sky and throw. Hopefully she’ll never do it again. It’s a moment to be treasured, savored and secured. So, absolutely girl, toss your bouquet - toss it true and sure. It’s a moment in time that is distinctly yours.
