Louise knew about my work from a few years previous when we used to both play in a Ukelele group for fun. So when she was looking for a photographer to capture her day for her and her fiance Rob, I was an obvious choice. My style of photography totally suited them both. Like most of our clients, they are naturally shy people who don't want to be at a photoshoot. They'd rather not be in front of the camera at all. But at the same time, they trusted me to be totally unobtrusive on the day and just capture what happened with no asking them to pose for anything apart from a couple of relaxed portraits after the ceremony. It's really not that obvious when I'm taking photos. So they were both able to relax and just be themselves.

They had chosen The Oakley Court Hotel, as they just loved the fact that it was where the Rocky Horror Show was filmed in 1975. When you are looking for a wedding venue for just the two of you, it's really fantastic to find somewhere that you feel a connection to. It's a lovely venue and I'd shot there before a number of times, so I knew it would work great for the photos. The little ceremony room is perfect for a small wedding and has fabulous window light on the couple all the way through the ceremony.

Loved their little ring box, with the date on the top and their little wedding cake, which they thoroughly enjoyed with a glass of champagne after the ceremony. The whole shoot took less than two hours and gave them a lovely set of images to remember the day by.
