Christopher and Jennifer embrace on the rooftop where they were married in Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. The artistic composition of this portrait highlights the importance of keeping perspective during the darkest of times.

Jennifer and Christopher had plans to meet in March, but as the COVID-19 virus began to sweep across the country, they knew it would no longer be possible. Instead, they spent endless hours during quarantine talking to one another on the phone and getting to know each other better. In a time in which most people felt distant and apart, Jennifer and Christopher grew closer together. Taking a leap of faith after a whirlwind virtual romance, Jennifer decided to move in with Christopher in July, and by August, they were engaged to be married. In an ode to their pandemic romance, they planned a 25-person rooftop ceremony and incorporated virtual elements in order to include as many of their friends and family members as possible. Their story proves that love can overcome all challenges — even those that separate us by physical distance.
