3rd place in Getting Ready
The WPJA contest judges presented MangKhris Santika, a Bali, Indonesia wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- These people must have been in a hurry or perhaps the dress was a little tight after last night’s rehearsal dinner. Or maybe it was just too many buttons, but one thing is certain, this group was eager to help. All but the girl at bottom left, of course, who seems to be instructing them to break it up. Overall I like the not-so-subtle humor of this image highlighted by its documentary style approach. It’s fun and refreshing and makes you feel like part of the family. That is quite refreshing.
