2nd place in Bouquet/Garter (Action)
The WPJA contest judges presented Salvo Moroni, a Catania, Italy wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Great timing of desperate hands trying to catch the bouquet, and great framing. The bride is framed perfectly between moving arms. Great positioning by the photographer to get the bridemaids, bride, and door frame all in one image. This image has layers of composition and moments.
- The photographer made a potentially risky decision to shoot from behind the women in an attempts to get the bride’s reaction to the bouquet toss. Luckily, the photo gods were at work and the outstretched arms nicely frame the bride. No risk, no reward!
