1st place in Kids (Being Kids)
The WPJA contest judges presented Alea Moore, a Georgia, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- I love her reaction, and it makes me smile. It seems like a real moment that was surprising, and I loved to see images that surprise me. Very nice work in capturing this. I love the little girl's body language.
- You just can’t quite get over the little girl's expression as she is prodded and pulled by her family. Who knows how long the photographer had to wait to get this image, but it was worth. The vibrant colors add to the joyous energy of the photo.
