4th place in Action
The WPJA contest judges presented Miranda Lievers, a British Columbia, Canada wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Not an unexpected image, but a very well executed one in which the photographer has it all – the out reached hands and arms, the bouquet and the reaction of a non-participant too near the action. The diagonals make for an active dynamic image and the photographer did an good job with the lighting ratio between the strobe and the background on the blend or pop flash - freezing the action but maintaining a bit of understated context of the surroundings.
