10th place in Silhouettes / Shadows and Good Light
The WPJA contest judges presented David Hill, a United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- What a wonderfully playful moment with so much going for it. It has both shadows and nice light. The kids in shadow on one side are terrific with their hands in the air and the boy on the other side—all placed beautifully in the frame and the lovely addition of the little girl on the left, gracefully picking something up and the great texture and color in the walls with the blue light make this a wonderful photograph.
