3rd place in ENHANCED (Details)
The WPJA contest judges presented Karla Fountain, a Florida, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Great detail and use of color – beautiful tonality and very interesting. Wow, what a lovely photo of the mendhi artwork. The photographer did a nice job capturing all the different details and textures of the intricate (customary Indian) artwork, using soft, even lighting. The darkening the edges helps our eyes to go to the details on the bride's hands. I like the fact that the details and shapes on the wedding sari is reminiscent of the details of the mendhi artwork.
