I started my own photography business a few years ago and have developed a documentary or reportage style of photographing weddings, I think this is because I have always been drawn to natural candid images myself. These are the images that give an honest and real feel to wedding day. In general people definitely find more of a connection with these images and are moved far more when they look back at this as opposed to more formal posed shots.
I started out by taking an online diploma in digital photography when my children were small and have built on that knowledge with various other short courses, lots of practice and continuing development!
I like to be as unobtrusive as possible throughout a wedding and only disrupt the natural flow of the day to shoot some formals of the family and the bride and groom if they ask for them. Other than that I like nothing more than capturing great pictures that tell a story of the day without anyone knowing!
I submitted my first image into the WPJA contest in the Spring and got a 12th place which I am very proud of. I am also a member of the Guild of Photographers and have won a Bronze and a Silver Guild Award for my images.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, if I can help you in any way please feel free to contact me and we can discuss your big day!
