3rd place in Musicians & DJs
The WPJA contest judges presented Chanarthip Cheingthong, a Thailand wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- This a rather unique image in the genre of live band players in silhouette because, beside the fact that itʼs a really nice photo executed well by the photographer, itʼs the long stretch of band members with the equally long, linear background that “sold me” on this image. And if youʼve ever traveled south of the U.S. border through Mexico and particularly Central America, youʼd recognize the fencing style so popular around various public venues that host music, speeches, markets and such. So, the fencing, art into a short painted concrete wall, adds to the image as a setting descriptor.
Wedding photographer Chanarthip Cheingthong, was awarded 3rd place for photo 1966261 in the Musicians & DJs category for the WPJA's 2016 Q4 Photography Competition.
