4th place in Lens Flare / Refraction

Wedding photographer Jeremy Fiori, was awarded 4th place for photo 1948301 in the Lens Flare / Refraction category for the WPJA's 2016 Q4 Photography Competition.

The WPJA contest judges presented Jeremy Fiori, a France wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.

The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

  • Great example of creative use of available light. The color patterns and rim light are nice too.
  • The prismatic refraction of the center light ties this bride and groom together, a sphere splits and at a glance we see the angle of her face, slightly downward, where her hands placed gently on his chest rest. The light points to the heart and mind of the couple, but the bride wears a gown of light, the primary colors, the very substance of the shadows that surround them in a rich deep black - a place where light and its many colors gather to rest.
