The WPJA contest judges presented Janine Cooper, a Nebraska, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- The “I do” is a wonderful detail. Strong composition and color.
- I enjoy the photo because it has a subtle detail that augments its color, light and composition. It would still be a nice photo for obvious reasons, the details of the fingers and pink painted nails. But, at it’s center, just as most of us are about to turn to the next “page” there is a punchline - the “ring finger” nail with the words “I do” inscribed upon it. That detail alone lifts the image to a winning entry.
