This photograph, taken by Fabio Mirulla, was awarded 3rd place in the Bouquet/Garter (Action) category for the WPJA's 2015 Q4 Photography Contest.
- There are few times a silhouette rises as high or higher than the bride’s bouquet. It’s a form of juxtaposition that requires, like any composition, a reason, which usually is a form of setting, or, at best it completes the moment tying one action to another in a meaningful fashion. But in this image the silhouette has become the “juxtaposer” playing off the bride as “juxtaposee.” What a lovely image.
- Nice use of positive and negative space. Great planning and execution in this frame.
