8th place in Weather
The WPJA contest judges presented Alan Rogers, a Victoria, Australia wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

Photographer's Comment
This image was taken in a hurry. A shady city lane way with the bridal party just out of the chapel and on the move. Then a gush of wind came out of nowhere as I stood steadfast in the middle of the road to capture the scene I saw unfolding. All the while a large rubbish truck was bearing down on me honking loudly on his horn. I did not move, I was determined not to let this moment slip away!
