3rd place in Bride Getting Ready
The WPJA contest judges presented Stephen Casey, a Hertfordshire, United Kingdom wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- This photograph combines the good thinking to place the bride in her environment plus the technical ability to produce a meaningful picture the bride and her new family will appreciate for years. The expression on the child's face shows good timing.
- This is a really beautifully captured scene and sweet moment. The photographer did a great job of using the natural light to keep the moment pure and simple with the incorporation of the city outside. It tells the story well.
