1st place in Ceremony
The WPJA contest judges presented Mark Earthy, a London, United Kingdom wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- A really sweet moment that the people in the other room have no idea is happening.
- This is a very passionate image, not just because of the wonderful moment occuring between bride and groom, as the wedding awaits (or perhaps it is just concluded). It's a beautiful moment shared between the two of them, surrounded in a luxurious room. Amazingly, the ornate room doesn't detract from the power of the moment. Such is the strength of it combined with composition that our eyes readily land on the moment.
