15th place in Food & Drinks
The WPJA contest judges presented Dan Harris, a Florida, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

Photographer's Comment
I delight in the unexpected moments of a unique wedding day that ultimately become the most heart-felt, story-telling images of the day. The bride had mentioned that she was 'starving' prior to being introduced to the reception, so the staff brought some snacks for the bridal party. Trying to maintain a dainty dignity, the bride thought she was sneaking a quick bite only to be caught unexpectedly by my long-lens. She now laughs at how through the hustle of the day she barely had time to 'chow-down'!

- Mmmm... meat. Funny little moment between a bride and her roast beef. Its hard to eat a slab of meat daintily. Nice catch by the photographer.
