3rd place in Creative Portrait of Bridal Party
The WPJA contest judges presented Marie Labbancz, a New Jersey, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Talk about making lemonade from lemons – a funny well-done portrait on a rainy day at the beach. The wedding party deserves some credit for being good sports. The image is nicely composed with a clean background and the umbrellas add a very funny element to the composition and the moment. The bare feet are a nice extra touch and the flower girl's serious expression in the center is cute. I only wish the building on left weren't there.
